Quote from: Mario on May 10, 2025, 09:05:30 PMArmagh away feels slightly more winnable than Donegal in Ballybofey. They have hammered us in our last two games though so will take a vast improvement from us to get anything from the game.

Armagh and Donegal have 2 of the best goalkeepers for kickouts in the country yet both faltered at different times under pressure today... we do not have a GK of that calibre and the pressure will be too much that I can't see us winning that battle.

Add to that the fitness/pace and tactical nous shown by both teams then we have problems because I don't think we're anywhere close on either of those fronts.

Armagh should be facing 3 or 4 suspensions after the disgraceful scenes after the final whistle. I'd say the authorities will go hard to ensure those scenes are never repeated.

Only a couple of years since they done the same thing at headquarters

SouthOfThe Bann

Alot of talk Derry are going well on the challenge match circuit.

Made light work of Monaghan apparently.

Geezer said something about Derry going well in challenge games. Anyone heard anything?

"It's a tough one. Derry are playing well by all accounts in their challenge games, and Dublin are Dublin, and Galway are probably one of the best teams in the country at the minute, but there's no easy ones left" There's geezers comments for anyone who didn't see

Haven't heard any buzz this week around the games I know we beat Galway in preseason, hard to know the stock with these games

I heard we beat Cork and scored 4 goals??!!

I lost all hope in the morning with news of defeat and now it's back with a victory and 4 goals scored.
Maybe it is like go games, no one kept the score but it was definitely a draw.

Cork won by 10 points at Johnston House. Both teams there on a training camp.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on April 28, 2025, 12:53:06 AMWas at that game, he was exceptional. Did miss a few long range free though.

What ever happened Oisin McWilliams was tipped for a bright future for club and county (one of the few subs Meenagh and Gallagher used). He broke down before the 2023 All Ireland series group game against Clare with a fractured leg i dont recall him playing again even for the Swa.
Asked a Swatragh senior player about these situations last weekend. Said Kearney was asked to county development squad but in his words 'told them where to go'. Now wouldn't take that as gospel, but sounds like he was at least asked.
Oisin McWilliams is back running after needing another surgery. Hopefully he can get back playing as that injury was an awful pity. Talented player.

Yes heard the same, Kearney happy to rack up big scores in fairly average pretty much uncompetitive senior league for the rest of his career it seems. Always find it strange players with massive talent who haven't the ambition to push themselves or see where they could get to. Hopefully someone can change his mind before its too late.

Sounds like he doesn't have the attitude or mindset needed to play inter county football. Don't know the lad at all but if he hasn't been involved upto this point he'll need 2/3 years before he is up to speed with nutrition, S&C and a detailed understanding of tactics. That's what this year would have been & he turned it down. Lads like that get found out fairly quick for the horrible attitude. So at least he knew his limits.

Derry have enough talented players coming through who have the drive to succeed without throwing good money after bad. Should go nowhere near him.

"Told them where to go" who does he think he is  ;D  ;D  ;D :D  :D

I seen that lad a fair few times past 2yrs. To me he good enough to be a county fballer as he's 2 footed and very accurate. Not the height of the brothers though. That him and McAleer i seen, good enough to be on the panel, but u gotta be wanting it, the way Armagh and Donegal big panels gel together.

Totally agree he has what it takes on face value but different standard playing against club teams minus their county men to moving to intercounty football, Be interesting to see how much he kicks in the club championship when everyone is back at it.
Maybe the commitment not there and we know its not for everyone but when you have the talent I always think your bound to eventually retire with a few regrets.

Agree with all of this. In my experience it's always somebody else's fault why they never make it
