Man city away to Leyton Orient to, do you think all the Man City season ticket holders are guaranteed a ticket?

The GAA have messed up the season ticket process as you should only be guaranteed a home ticket.
Any other game should be based on availability and if there isn't enough then it's a lottery.

This isn't Antrims fault and they shouldn't be penalised for lack of foresight within the Association.

You're guaranteed a ticket to all your teams matches.
Some venues may not have enough seated accomodation so they can't guarantee a seat.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

100% it shouldn't have been a problem to insert a clause into season tickets saying you're guaranteed a ticket "where the venue capacity allows it".

Massive own goal why haven't they learned the lesson from Newbridge or Nowhere a few years ago? Also the GAA caved then so they'll have to cave here too!

Thatc was Central Council, this is Ulster Council.
Kildare had the rule book in their favour.
Is there anything written down about venues in the Ulster SFC?

Quote from: ardtole on February 08, 2025, 11:34:15 AMFor the integrity of the competition, the game should go ahead in Corrigan Park.

The Leinster counties (laois Kildare Meath in particular) sacraficed home advantage to the Dubs for the short term pay day and in the process destroyed their provincial championship.

If some Armagh supporters miss out that's simply tough luck. They should be compensated accordingly and let the competition progress.
Agreed.

Give them the price of a ticket for the next game or whatever and televise it.

No, because City weren't playing at home!

There is an away ticket scheme for away games, with a far smaller allocation obviously.

This is where the GAA season ticket idea falls down. It is supposed to guarantee you home and away.

Of course it is Antrim's fault, they are the ones being thick about using a solution than many other counties have used in the past.

Honestly this is pap.
The integrity of the game has f**k all squared to do with home advantage.

The integrity of championship football is based on an ever increasing circle when players try their hardest, which draws large crowds, which drives players to try harder again, which draws larger crowds again, and so on.

Breaking that circle for a sob story is nonsense.

That "solution "  is to a problem not of their making.

Why should they bend over and grease up to be screwed over?

They have learned by updating the rule book to say

Note: Home Venues for all Senior Inter County Championship games shall be subject to
approval by the Central Competitions Control Committee and shall meet the criteria set
down by the National Facilities/Health and Safety Committee.

Genuine question. Are the Antrim players/management factoring in how few Antrim supporters would get to go to the game if at Corrigan?

Just checked the terms and conditions on a Season ticket.

As pointed out above the relevant clause is

In the event that the number of Season Ticket holders exceeds stadium capacity or venue restrictions the GAA offers no guarantee of the availability of seats or entry to that fixture.

So the issue that arises is Armagh have 3500 season tickets and I dont know how many Antrim have.  Assuming it exceeds the capacity then I foresee a considerable amount of legal argument over whether in accordance with this term the Season Ticket Holders get first preference or not. My feeling is they must

If the number doesn't exceed the capacity then I imagine it will be largely only season ticket holders who will be able to get tickets as there would be no other way to assign tickets and not clearly breach this term.

Given that season tickets don't represent value for money in terms of a direct comparison to price on the day.    (unless you are in Div 1 or 2 and go to the league or club finals) It strikes me that season ticket holders missing out is going to be a big issue in the venue choice for this one.

A mess if I ever saw it.

Armagh County Board should come out and support Antrim on this, in the spirit of the games. They'll have plenty of other days out this summer. Give the disgruntled apple-chompers with season tickets free entry or some crap to a NFL game. Or pallets or something.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

They already have entry to all Armagh NFL games and I think a free ticket to what could potentially (although unlikely) be a Tailteann Cup match is unlikely to be an acceptable compromise for those who spent 150 euro to ensure a right to buy tickets to every match.

For the 100th time on this - not Antrim's problem.

Oh its absolutely not which is why I'm behind them and hope they stand their ground.  I just foresee that I dont think its likely they will be able to.
