Quote from: GaaGPT on August 13, 2024, 11:47:26 AMLooks like a nasty injury in Clonoe v Coalisland reserve game. Video is doing the rounds. Player had no intent of going for the ball.

Wouldn't be the 1st time Clonoe hospitalised a player with a dirty hit. Won't be the last unfortunately

More of an unfortunate collision than a dirty hit but sure whatever you think yourself. Im sure you were at the game and had a good view. It was a nasty injury and hope he recovers ok from it.
Didn't look to be much attempt to play the ball lol

In all honesty I think you are stretching there calling it an 'unfortunate collision'. I don't think there is much defending you can do of that incident whether you were at the match or not.

Who had the 100/1 accumulator for division 2 tonight, some upsets

No one interested in winning that Intermediate League. Everyone trying their best to get away from it. Aghyaran look most likely from this juncture.

Quote from: clarshack on August 10, 2024, 09:56:47 PMGortin have had night and day seasons in 2023 and 2024, last year stayed up on 7 points (which would get relegated to Junior this year) and this year could win the league. The reality is that they are somewhere in between and would really struggle if they ended up in Division 1.

Everyone in the county though wants to see the Ardboe v Coalisland relegation playoff but both those teams will find a way to get out of it and we will be left with Pomeroy v Clonoe.
We would settle for Clonoe Coalisland. Bumper crowd.

Easttyrone23

We surely have the most competitive and entertaining league football in Ireland. With 3 games to go in both div 1 and 2 we have between 6-8 teams fighting at both ends of the tables for league title/promotion/relegation.

I understand we are restricted with time to get the league wrapped up but could you imagine games being fixed for different times and days like they would be for the championship, the sort of bumper crowds we would be getting at some of these fixtures, which Would also give clubs extra revenue at the gates.

It's clear the gap between division 1 & 2 is massive. Division 2 standards this year probably as poor as I can remember. Whatever 2 go up will com straight back down.

It will be 2 teams only promoted.
Living the dream!!!

Quote from: ShutterinbyDayGAAbyNight on August 05, 2024, 08:31:57 AMHow are aghaloo still in Div 3? You see them putting up huge scores in that division for the past 3-4+ years only for them to end up bottling the league, championship and league playoffs every year.

Have Agahloo appealed the drumquin result on the grounds of ineligible player/incorrect transfer?

In Div 2 - Cookstown seem to have the more difficult games left, but they have beaten Moy and Derylaughan in their last two games. They are also in the grade 1 minor final for second year in a row, so seems to be talent coming through. The Div2 relegation playoff team should beat the Div 3 team

Moy, Greencastle, Moortown and Derrylaughan have proven they can go to Division 1 and win games and survive. Likewise Eglish showed this last year, Pomeroy this year. Clonoe in intermediate last year showed how "wide" this gap is when they didn't win an Intermediate double. Likewise I don't think Ardboe, Coalisland, Clonoe or Edendork win an Intermediate Double next year. And there is nothing straight forward about Clonoe Coalisland Ardboe going to play Moortown Greencastle Moy or Derrylaughan in a relegation play off.

Cookstown must be out some pocket with these results

Said all this without mentioning Gortin and Aghyaran who are 1st and 2nd in Div 2

The worst Coalisland team in generations beat Moortown and Moy in play offs last year in second gear. Comfortable in both games. I don't think the gaps massive but I think its a fair comment to say we normally have someone in mind for a rattle at Ulster intermediate and I can't see it this year no?

Even with Clonoe slipping up v the Moy in IFC last year, their supporters would tell you they're poor right now and they went unbeaten in the intermediate league.

Truthsayer

I think is 10 years since Div 1 team lost to Div 2 team in the play-off. Is usually comfortable and you are talking the third best team in second tier.
