Hardest draw possible for us.
Probably 7pm Saturday and an Ulster Ref as well just to make sure.
The Canavans will score about 1-10 each.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

I can't see Monaghan getting near Galway at all. Tyrone Roscommon interesting. I think Tyrone have maybe pushed on and could win by a bit but it's a good test to see if they have.

Kerry game might have come at the wrong time for Louth though Cork of the back of the Tyrone defeat won't be too happy either.

On paper Galway should win but there is always one big game in Monaghan and now that they finally got a win under their belt yesterday they will see this as their All Ireland final which makes them dangerous.

Tyrone have not impressed me this year either and Roscommon were in a tough group with Mayo and Dublin and performed ok. Two fairly mediocre sides on this years form and I think it could go to the wire.

I think Cork will beat Louth, it will be difficult for Louth to pick it up again after shipping a heavy defeat yesterday and they don't have the squad depth in comparision to other top teams to cope with the number of games

is Donegal Tyrone possible since they played in the group?

Hope we get a non Ulster opponent tbh but it is set up for 3 or 4 brilliant quarter finals.

I'm glad we avoided Tyrone and Louth, we do t need any more sub-plots before a game.

League form is out the window for Derry and based on how we've been playing and with all the injuries, we'll really struggle.
Mckindless back will help, but our attacking play has been non existent and we've been getting cleaned out at midfield.

Hard to see anything other than a Mayo win unless Derry find some form.

Blowitupref

Going by the odds will be wins for Mayo,Galway,Cork,Tyrone the most likely match to cause upset? three of last years Prelim matches went to the wire and was decided on fine margins late on.

Cork  4/7  Louth 15/8

Galway 2/7  Monaghan 7/2

Mayo 11/8  Derry 6/4

Tyrone 2/5  Roscommon 5/1

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

A 1 point spread in the Derry Mayo game. Nearly too close to call according to the bookies but a foregone conclusion to most in here.

I haven't seen anyone say that it is a foregone conclusion, maybe that's only in your own head. On paper Derry have the better players but I think with home advantage and on current form that Mayo will edge it.

I think if Derry show up at all they will have enough to take us in McHale Park. We have no penetration against a mass defence apart from O"Shea and O"Donoghue so if Derry crowd them out and stop Ruane's runs forward we won't score much more than 9 or 10 points and we never create many goal chances against a mass defence. We will need to get Cillian a lot on the ball to try and score from out around the 45 as Flynn and Carney seemed too hesitant to take on long range points and we will miss the running power of McLaughlin and Durcan, but if I know this you can be sure Harte does to and will have a plan to stop it. Throw in the massive effort that counted for nothing against the Dubs and I just don't see us having enough in the tank for this one unless we are lucky enough that the reported rifts in the Derry camp might put them off their game enough for us to scrape through.

Aaron Boone

Last year, didn't all 4 prelim winners lose in the QF's 7 days later?

See if that trend is broken this year.
