Isn't funny of all the things that 'our' politicians have been caught doing that the thing that will be career ending will be making a decision that actually makes sense budget wise.  ::)  ::)

Folk here all want to live in a half acre site, be able to drive to work and have a primary and secondary school 5 mins away and a hospital and gp with a full range of services within 15 mins and aren't prepared to pay for it or get public transport or do anything which might inconvenience them in the slightest. It's no surprise as politicians keep telling them they can have all the able, somebody else just has to do with less.

Nesbit was trying to do the right thing with the limited resources at his disposal, the alternative is to continue to have shite services everywhere rather than good services delivered centrally.

In health people are permanently exclaiming "they don't want to die in an ambulance on the road to (insert name of nearest big city)", we'll you're going to die anyway because the surgeon you campaigned for locally isn't getting enough operations to keep their skills sharp, or worse there is no surgeon because it's a dead end career wise and nobody wants to be there.

Voters are self interested and politicians refuse to tell the truth. And so the world turns.

Nearest Hospital to me, a min 30mins, it is the one in question they taking about, after that its 50mins/1hr to the nxt one.  Public transport around here poor on a good day. Northern Ireland never adjusted for population increases. Closed 3 or 4 hospital units 25yrs ago, directed them to Antrim Hospital built 10/15yrs before,  and not big enough then, to take its Area A&E, foreby the areas of the hospitals it closed. Havent the ability to increase A&E  capacity and wouldnt allow ambulances some sort of procedured drop off to free them up again, and not sorting out care at the other end . They not addressed that basic problem forever but run round trying to  sthing required in that area.

Quote from: johnnycool on August 19, 2026, 10:34:30 AMNot DUP but that Jon Burrows lad would eat himself if he could.

Nesbitt has just resigned as Health minister after Burrows made a speech in his constituency that he would stop the cancelling of emergency surgery in the Causeway and the merging of it with Antrim Area even if more and more reports on it said that it was unsustainable in its current form.

In another random thing I found out today. Philip Brett, who seems to be turning into the male Carla Lockhart, had a brother who was killed by the uda because they thought he was a catholic. The DUP get in bed with the LCC etc and this boy is onboard??

And people wonder why Bengoa is not being delivered.

It was without consulting nesbitt too so very possibly a ploy to undermine him and do something like this. Very unlikeable is burrows.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Incompetent pen pushers in the PC.

If correct process is followed for a new application, they'll still not get down it. Still, good ammo and PR for Lockhart, Bryson, Allister etc.

It will be spun as a titanic legal victory, as opposed to a technicality. Fair enough, they got what they were after.

Others will follow along to claim it vindicates and asserts their right to march down the road, which it categorically does not.

So, what does it all  mean?

What's the next  likely step?

They should be let nowhere near the place. Like a bunch of toddlers never letting up too.
