I think we are down 1 coach from our backroom team anyway? Mutual agreement is the story.

Maybe it isn't as intriguing but any chance you could say put a name to this?

His views on how to play on the smaller fish podcast wouldn't excite you last year.

Any chance he could take the under 20s?

You reckon the management team will be confirmed at the championship draw?

Ryan O

I would doubt it, I'd be surprised if there's an announcement at all.

Faughanvale, Kilrea and Limavady still still in a dogfight at the bottom of division 1. None of them picking up points at the weekend.

Faughanvale have Dungiven , Glen and Loup

Kilrea have Bellaghy, Newbridge, Steelstown.

Limavady have Steelstown, Lavey, Newbridge.

Screen (not totally safe but almost) have Magherafelt, Loup, Bellaghy.

Who do we fancy for the bottom 2 places?

Brendan

Vale look a dejected team, a few key men away to Oz before the championship even starts so need put out of their misery.

Limavady got the points on the board early in the season and that seems to have done the job for them.

Kilrea into the play off and wouldn't fancy them against any of the Division 2 contenders who will be coming in with momentum and fancying themselves for the Intermediate Championship, assuming Banagher get the automatic spot

Wildweasel74

Its a pity there not better mobility/conditioning in that Tom Deery, (Limavady) hes a huge man.

Limavady only have 5 points the same as Kilrea definitely no job done for them yet.

Seems to Desertmartin, Coleraine and Claudy for 2nd spot.

It should help division 2 teams coming off the back of a decent season alright.

Just had a look back through the results and assumed Limavady had Kilrea on H2H but they drew, they have a worse points difference to so why are they above them in the table.

Too tight to call. It's hard to see any of the bottom four picking up a win in those games.

Personally, I'd prefer to see the North Derry teams stay in Division 1. I think it's better for the whole county if more North Derry clubs can progress and become more competitive. Faughanvale and Limavady both seem to be doing good work around their clubs, and staying up would give them a much-needed boost.

Screen really shouldn't be going down given the wealth of numbers they have. It seems like they just need to get their coaching structures into better shape.

From the little I've heard about Kilrea, they may have a few discipline and commitment issues to sort out. They pushed Newbridge hard a couple of years ago, so there is clearly something there.

It will be like a mini championship for those teams over their last few games

What is the issues with Screen? Surely they must put a 10 year development plan in place?

For the amount of players they have, they are nowhere near where they should be at. Are they, dare I say it, too big a club?

I remember hearing they won U14A, B and C football in one year a few years ago. Surely there's a starting point?

Ryan O

For a few years now what I've noticed is Screen hammering everyone bar maybe Magherafelt at all u14 grades. At U16 level they are still going strong but maybe not quite by as much.

I'm not sure I ever remember them winning a minor championship.

I think having massive pick of players at the oldest possible age of the underage groups generally carries your past majority of teams due to physical size.
By the time you get to minor level that has levelled out and size is less of a factor.

Everyone loves a 10 year plan, if someone ever comes up with an 8 year plan they'll clean up.

outsiderlookingin

How many teams won at youth level have brought it through to senior level? Ballinderry, Glen?

I rememeber ballinderry doing the clean sweep a few years.. 12s,14s,16s.minors senior and reserves, Has any other team done this- throw in Ulster minor and All Ireland grade 1 feile?
