Glen only half out, Does Ryan Dougan and J Doherty play much for Glen at all. McFaul got a ego issue or sthing, always the tough guy, u think Glen manager and previous, would have a serious word with him.

Ballinderry beat them the weekend before

Those 4 missing as well as Warnock, Glass & Ethan. Emmett Bradley & Tallon only seemed to come on going by Twitter. Not sure what the story with Conlann Bradley & Tiernan Flanagan this year but looks like Glen were missing up to 11 potential starters and I could easily be forgetting others.

Aye think Conlann played a game or two but away again. Charlie Diamond and Eoin McEvoy are away on J1s this summer as well

Watching these last few games in the AI shows just how far Derry are off it at the moment and how many counties are ahead of them. It'll be a long road back till we're competing for silverware again. A  team rebuild and major change of tactics required.

We are where we've always been. The odd day in the sunshine masks a lifetime of mediocrity.

And that's no criticism of anyone who pulls on a Derry shirt.

Hard to argue with that. We lack forwards, truth be told we always have even when at our very best.

Forwards,we lack bite and heart, thats the biggest problem, look at Monaghan and Tyrone, show plenty of heart, and that take u a fair way, wouldnt beat Kerry but u be competive. On forwards, theres hardly a player who can kick 2 pters from play in the Division 1, on a steady basis or a forward who can take a man on and beat him with sheer pace.

Maybe I'm an eternal optimism but I actually thought the opposite. There are fine margins at this level and if things aren't going right you can look worse than you are. We've had the upper hand on Tyrone when we've faced them the past 5 years, we should have beat Monaghan well and we beat Cork by 20 points. All those teams competed this weekend.

Not sure if anyone beats Kerry but to do so you need to hit at least 25 points to have a chance. I don't think we have that type of scoring in us. Tyrone went score for score with them and the new rules encourage teams to go for it. Gone are the days where you can try and hold a team to 13 odd points and win a big game in Croke park.

I felt that Cork played similar to what we would have done and tried to run everything and they looked v one dimensional. To win in Croke park you need to mix it up, kick when it's on and go through the hands when it slows down. Until Derry get the right balance in how we play, I don't think we can really threaten the top teams in Croker. A lot of it comes down to whether we have the players, but the approach and tactics we employ also needs to evolve.

Yes I would put it up around 10/11 missing, I'd say a reserve team out to be honest.

Doesn't take away from the fact that Lavey were very impressive and also missing a few expected starters. Impossible to know were Glen are.

Having watched Mc Faul 4 times this season he's a complete liability, always played on the edge we know but starting to slip over it alot more often. He targets opposition county men perhaps trying to prove a point.

Who the lad plays No.11 for Glenullin? Hes about the fastest player i seen in the league this year, goes direct and takes his man on ever time.

The one time we really threatened to get to an all Ireland final we absolutely went for it against Kerry in the semi final in 2023. Some might argue we peaked that year. But that game was one we should have won and we were very unlucky. The new rules might not be the worst thing for us, if we would just take the shackles off.

Surely young Sargeant will be an All Star. McGuigan has kicked the lights out for years, had a bad year but will be back. Murray is unpredictable which is something every attack needs. I think we still have the guts of a brilliant team. McEvoy, Forbes, Murray, Sargeant and Higgins are all very young and even Glass, Clucky, E. Doherty, McGuigan and McGrogan are under 30.
