Ryan Bell put in some shift yesterday for Ballinderry in the Larkin Cup final

from what I'm hearing he's got himself into serious shape.
A brilliant forward, kicks 5/6 on a bad day.

Ballinderry have the potential to upset the few of the big boys this year and try and get themselves back to the top table.

Sucky is in the best condition I have seen him in a long time , in this 2 point era he will be a a huge threat for Ballindery this year

Not sure I agree with that, they are still quite a distance away.
With some of the Downeys back it should help them but it'll be interesting to see how the new dynamic works out there.

I think Ballinderry are dangerous not necessary the team they were but on any day they put it up to top 4. Played last year without Mc Kinless and O Donnell missing for majority so that will change things.

Outside the top 4 there isn't much between any of them.

O' Donnell played in the cship for Ballinderry and played well. McKindless was the only player missing. They are close to it at all

I would put Lavey,Bellaghy,Dungiven, Ballinderry all in the one pot. If they drew eachother it would be hard game to call.

Banagher, Swatragh,Screen, Kilrea and Steelstown if they happen to get a decent run would match eachother but are a fair distance behind the top 4 and 6 or 8 points behind next 4.

That being said they could be beaten by anyone who's left, they are probably closer to intermediate than winning senior championship.

I hear that from a few people! What results over the last 2/3 years is that based on?

They are decent side but don't see why they are being placed ahead of the other chasing pack?

Biggest issue they have is they are too small and thats the reason for putting Regan outfield in big games and keeping O Boyle in goals.
Niall Toner is a super player and their best forward but when opposition teams are facing Lavey do they fear him like other inter county players?

Were Lavey not unlucky to lose to Slaughtneil last year? Can't mind the details now tbh

They have been strong underage as number of years, those boys all a year older, whereas Glen Slaughtneils main men all a year older in the other way lol

They have one/two county level panelists returning to their fold

The state of the Derry league is sad.

Used to be an excitement with the league starting, a lot of chat around it, buzz around the camp. A few years ago The Derry Post would be good reading with previews and predictions.

The last few years it's gotten gradually worse with a lot of senior teams made up of mostly reserve footballers and reserve fixtures unfulfilled. Is there any way of putting more emphasis on the league again or is it a dead duck?

I think Glenullin will give a good account of themselves but still a bit off the top sides.
Think Ballinderry should be ok. I'd guess Faughanvale for relegation from championship and Limavady to be relegated in the league.
The usual sides to compete at the top come championship time.

Bit early to predict championship relegation as itll all come down to the draw, Ballinderry at championship time last year probably better than some of the teams who made it into the round 2 B or whatever it was called to face the first round winners thanks to a kind draw.

Limavady might get that promotion bounce and stay up
