If orange culture is to be respected, respectful and minimally disruptive, then why not have the service in their place of worship and disperse quietly.

No. Because that wouldn't uphold their 300 plus year right to dominate the agenda, the community, the law and the government.

The PSNI made it clear that had no information indicating that the parade would result in disorder or violence

It doesn't have to result in disorder or violence for there  to be a huge policing bill. Even just having police numbers on the ground... cars, land rovers, choppers... extra officers flown in,  riot police ready,  water cannons at the ready... lots of overtime paid.... it will add up

Is there any chance this is all scripted and it'll be stopped by the legal challenge? Would take the immediate pressure away from the Parades commission in that they allowed it? I assume I'm grasping at straws.

No scripting, although it could still be successfully challenged.
