The money spent by Armagh and Roscommon last year.  :o
two Kerry managers
Division Two winners
U21 team that got to an AI semi final

it all adds up

Yet Tyrone spent 200k less despite winning the AI u21 and making it to late August in the Championship. Huge money being pumped into Roscommon and ye even have your own bus....

You can have tendon damage that I'm guessing would be quite painful when it flairs up and constantly trying to smack a ball out of a forwards grasp surely does it no favours. My oul fella had to get an operation due to being in agony anytime he was out on the fairways.

Seems our Tyrone friend is trying to stir things a bit.

Seemingly Morgan has been nursing the injury for a while but has got worse and needs surgery. I dare say that if he can get fit quick enough he would want to play. Geezer may feel that is unfair on others though.

Well he's taking the decision now meaning he won't play for Armagh this year.  1 Cross player on the panel and them the best club in the county by a country mile.

Is PJ Quinn still on the Tyrone panel? I saw this on the Irish News last week.

Tyrone are still without injured trio Joe McMahon, Ronan McNabb, PJ Quinn and Niall McKenna, while Ronan McNamee took a knock to his knee during Sigerson last week, which "could keep him out" against Laois on Sunday.

On McMahon's absence, Harte said: "The good news with Joe was that he didn't need another operation, so we're hoping he'll be available to train fully again quicker than had he had another operation, which would have kept him out for another two months."

AFAIK only 2 U21's on senior panel - Lee Brennan & Cathal McShane. Have I missed any??

We won't see these involved until U21 season is over, first game is Wednesday 16th in Breffni v An Cabhan

Fox and Mulgrew are also with the panel now but really only there for a numbers perspective.

James Morgan taking the season out now, I know it's surgery but I think you can read into the decision being taken now to undergo it.

Only one Cross player on the panel now?

Very strong Derry team named, they'll definitely have a big physical and size advantage over us with the side picked. Conditions will have a lot to say into the outcome - wet and soft conditions will suit Derry much more.

Tyrone have struggled with Derry in recent times, a lot of the Derry lads on here write off their team a little too much, they have quality players but it's more being a case of application and team spirit that has set them back in the past. Barton does seem to have them going well. Tyrone generally struggle against Ulster sides.

Tyrone win this and they're up, a Derry win throws it wide open between ourselves, Galway and Derry for two spots.

Fair enough StephenC. A note to self not to post directly after Mayo lose again ;D I still think they shouldn't have ganged up on DOC like that though.

You've nothing to apologise for. It was scummy, and far from the worst instance of Donegal gamesmanship the past five years.

Were you ashamed of your county's gamesmanship against Kerry a number of weeks ago?
Learning from Tyrone, or some other Ulster team etc etc
Happy?

That's not the question.

Ye've all been on here crying your crocodile tears when you lose a game about the indiscretions of others but when the shoe is on the other foot the duplicity in the moral outrage is shown up for what it is.

Tyrone have had many good tough battles against Donegal in the past few years, we've came out the wrong side of them for the most part and I have never had any complaints with the way they've conducted themselves (with the exception of Bonner in an underage game last year).

On the other hands we've smashed Roscommon a number of times in the past few years and all you get from this is the usual hand wringing and mud slinging. They have shown a complete lack of class and I think it says even more about them with omerta on the underhand tactics, cynicism and dirt they were up to down in Kerry a number of weeks ago when closing out the game.

The two faces of Roscommon football.

Yes, I said myself yesterday they should have left it alone and got on with it.

But spare us the sanctimony. Its not as if Mayo haven't, on other occasions, been involved in that type of stuff when frustration boils over and tensions are high. It happens in the heat of the moment, and once it breaks out, everyone in seems to be the protocol, which obviously makes it very hard for a referee to police and sort out under the current rules.

In fairness I'm thinking of things like the obvious targeting of Johnny Doyle before throw-in against Kildare in 2011. Donegal want to be physical and intimating but they seem a team that have married that trait in their head to playing well - that the more borderline they get, the better they think they play. I'll be interested to see how our young bucks cope with the afters in a few weeks.

Johnny Doyle was never targeted. There was an accidental collision with Michael Hegarty as they both went for the ball.

Give out about Eamon McGee's stamp on the Mayo lad in 2013 or about the feigning of injury to get Connolly sent off in 2011. There's no need to make stuff up if you want to have a pop.

It wasn't accidental.

Says who?

Michael Hegarty was about the least thuggish player to ever don an inter county jersey.

+1

Hegarty was a class act both on and off the pitch, one of the classiest players of his generation.

Donegal are a tough, physical team who give it out as good as they get it.

Less need for the hysterics here. Mayo had five or six attempts at decapitating the two McHughs yesterday but little has been made of that.

Not too worried about this weekends game although it would be nice to win and have a chance of promotion but the Championship is where it's at.

Fair play to the Tymoanies coming on spouting shite about winning O'Fiach & McKenna cup games. The Championship game will be a tight dogged affair and the previous games will have no bearing on it at all.

Bottom line is neither team will be within an asses roar of Ulster this year Donegal will always have Tyrone's number for the foreseeable future and they look to be even better this year with a great performance yesterday!

Really?

Yes really . . . I've seen nothing to suggest that Tyrone could live with Donegal.

Are they that much improved from last year? Tyrone improved immeasurably from the first round last year. You could be right, but I'd say its far to early to be saying Tyrone or Derry for that matter wouldn't come within an asses roar of Donegal - a team who looked like they'd reached close to the end of the road by July last year.

I think Donegal's decline and Tyrone's recovery are both exaggerated to a degree. Tyrone only beat Monaghan last year and that's it really. Yes it got them to an AISF but they had a spectacularly easy draw to get to Monaghan and one good performance got them over the line. They were well beaten by Kerry who in turn were well beaten by Dublin.

I think Tyrone & Monaghan are at the head of the pack chasing the top 4 teams but are still some way behind them. Tyrone's only hope is Monaghan somehow beating Donegal because even though Monaghan are probably a better team Tyrone have a psychological advantage over them which sees them implode when they play against eachother!

Tyrone were well beaten by Kerry? Were they?

I thought it was fairly close.

It was a game Tyrone left behind them with a number of missed goal chances, free takers having a bad day at the office and Deegan making a number of bignore calls against which were incorrect.

Where has Conor Clarke disappeared to since the league started? Injured?
