Captain Obvious

OP can update the thread title to 26.

I'll take a stab at towards who could be selected.

If Kerry win the All-Ireland final

Shane Murphy (Kerry)
Jason Foley (Kerry)
Donnacha McHugh (Mayo)
Enda Hession (Mayo)
Charlie McMorrow (Dublin)
Dara McDonnell (Louth)
Mike Breen (Kerry)
Mark O'Shea (Kerry)
Joe O'Connor (Kerry)
Brandon Kelly (Westmeath)
Paudie Clifford (Kerry)
Kobe McDonald (Mayo)
David Clifford (Kerry)
Dylan Geaney (Kerry)
Ryan O'Donoghue (Mayo)

If Mayo win the All-Ireland final

Jack Livingstone (Mayo)
Jason Foley, (Kerry)
Donnacha McHugh (Mayo)
Enda Hession (Mayo)
Charlie McMorrow (Dublin)
Dara McDonnell (Louth)
David McBrien (Mayo)
Mark O'Shea (Kerry)
Joe O'Connor (Kerry)
Brandon Kelly (Westmeath
Darragh Beirne (Mayo)
Kobe McDonald (Mayo)
David Clifford (Kerry)
Dylan Geaney (Kerry)
Ryan O'Donoghue (Mayo)

The selection process as ever the winner  gets 7 or 8.  Semi-finalists Louth and Dublin should get at least 1.

All star to Westmeath winning Leinster against the odds and I believe only David Clifford scored more from play in the championship than Brandon Kelly. Finally I think it will be a rare year of no Ulster player getting All Star.

rodney trotter

O Callaghan was more impressive then o Donoghue in the championship.  Played better opposition then O Donoghue.
Niall Scully would be unlucky to miss out. Ronan Wallace was solid for Westmeath in the half back line

gallsman

Joe O'Connor won't get one this year.

Goalie- Livingstone,I presume?

I hear that  line trotted out  alot. Same when it comes to AI semi finalists. You always seem to hear  "no Ulster teams in the semis this year". There has been  plenty of  times  where there's been no Leinster or Connacht  teams.

Brendan

Only 1 provincial winner going deep into the championship but surely can't overlook the provincial campaigns Roscommon and moreso Westmeath have had

Rossfan

Westmeath will probably get one.
We won't.
2026 the year of the 9 Cups

Definite:

David Clifford
Dara McDonell
Kobe McDonald
Ryan O'Donaghue

The rest is up in the air. 5-6 more should be nailed on, but could nail themselves or open the door to anyone depending on their final performance.

I didn't see Sunday's game but Dylan geaney must be close and paudie Clifford if he plays well again. Con O'Callaghan too.

Blowitupref

Three Ulster players who had a good championship and in with a shout.

Stephen O'Hanlon,Conn Kilpatrick and Niall Devlin

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

As much as it pains me to say it, would probably be unfair in Con Kilpatrick not to get one. Absolutely brilliant against Armagh in the Athletic Grounds and against Kerry.

Forgot about him, super year.

Would be strange for neither Connacht or Ulster winners not to get one but given we did nothing afterwards it's looking likely. Mad after the Ulster final I thought Conaty was in with a big shout of footballer of the year.

Conn definitely in with a shout. Niall Devlin not as good as he was last year. He had a quiet enough year this year. If any Tyrone defender was to get a nomination I'd go for Peter Teague.

Conor McCarthy not in with a shout? Thought he was very good each match
