Getting a team in their 1st semi-final since 1957 is fortune enough.  After losing to Tyrone they got good fortune to draw Division 2 opposition in Meath who went to pieces with 14 men and Cork who's shooting was woeful.

Louth's season has similar vibes to Fermanagh in 04 who Mayo narrowly beat in the semi-final after a replay.

Fermanagh beat Armagh in the q4 and meant that Armagh team won just the 1 Sam.

Whilst the quarter finals threw up some great contests, this might be the poorest quality we've seen at this stage of the All-Ireland for some time. Kerry v Tyrone the exception.

I really enjoy the refereeing panel on here. So much knowledge albeit very little agreement on what the actual rules are. I get more confused with each game. 😂

A bit like the  GAA's official  refereeing panel then?

looking at the penalty incident, I'd agree now that it was a foul but it's a big leap to claim the dub was pulled down to deny a goal scoring chance. Was there not a similar one awarded to Kerry v Derry. where the fouled one still had a lot of work to do? The definition of what is a goal scoring chance is wide open

As a neutral - I didn't want either Dublin or Galway to win. But at a push - I wanted Galway to lose.

With that in mind - how in the F*ck did David Gough get a Dublin game?
The lad lives and works in Dublin. He gave all the tight calls to Dublin.
There is no doubt about that.

Ignore the final 15 minutes. Before all that he gave Dublin 3 or 4 frees on kick outs. Galway got zero. Are you telling me only Galway were fouling going up for kick outs? Give me a break.

Plenty to criticise Galway for today. Kick outs, certain players not performing, etc. But the least you expect is fair play from the ref.

Leaves a very sour taste, I can only recollect Galway getting 3 frees in the match.

Look at Dublins 17th and 18th points, 2 frees bought by Dublin players grabbing hold of Hernon and Conroy. First one an utter joke as Gough had a great view of it.

Why can't refs just err on side of caution? Take a minute pretend to confer with umpire or linesmen. A point isnt a bad return.

Apart from when it comes to qualifying for the competition and who you can draw in it

NFL qualifies 7 teams, TC qualifies 1, Provincials qualify 8 ( with a perk)
All separate competitions.

Provincial championship qualifies and seeds 8 teams. It also restricts fixtures in the All Ireland and suspensions carry over so not an entirely separate competition

I realise I'm foolish going up against a solicitor but I'll give it a go. 😂. I can't see any result in the current All Ireland series where Dublin beat Louth by ten points. It may happen in the final but my crystal balls a bit cloudy.
