Quote from: Leixman on July 27, 2025, 11:36:26 PMHope Clubber do something about their commentary teams. There was a guy doing the Joseph's game on Friday and the Killeshin game on Saturday and I can safely say it should be his last weekend. People spending their money to listen to his drivel
Tomas Moore was decent enough on Satuday. Pat O'Sullivan is fine too.

Laois Senior Gaelic Football Championship Round 2
Winners Draw Pairings

Portlaoise v St Joseph's
Portarlington v Graiguecullen
Arles-Killeen v Killeshin
Ballyroan-Abbey v Courtwood

Laois Senior Gaelic Football Championship Round 2
Losers Pairings

Stradbally v Emo
O'Dempsey's v Crettyard
The Heath v Clonaslee-St Manman's
Ballyfin v Rosenallis

Some interesting pairings there, hard to predict who will come out of those.
On the Clubber thing do they show repeats of the games and at what time??
Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never quit!

The PRO

Some dreadful games in round 1.
Saw a good bit either in person or on TV.
Biggest disappointment was surely O'Dempseys. Never raised a gallop. Emo also very below what you'd expect. Thought Crettyard would have a bounce from last year's title but they were so poor. Courtwood didn't even have to be great to murder them.
Killeen v Rosenallis was exciting enough. Killeen will give Killeshin plenty of it.
Graigue comfortable v Stradbally.
Didn't see Port v Heath or Joes v Ballyfin.

I think you got your wish, Courtwood really put it up to Ballyroan and could have won it, Scully is a great warrior for Ballyroan.

Both Graiguecullen and Portarlington served up a thriller and finished off the weekend in style. The football was of a high standard and Graiguecullen just about deserved it. Walker has bulked up a bit and is a very good footballer. He kept going when a few around him were beginning to wilt a bit and I thought he was man of the match. Paddy O'Sullivan was top class too and worked his ass off today.
Happy enough with the standard I saw there today, let's hope there's more like that to come.

Good to see a lot of closer games this gameweek, clearly a difference in standard there. Thought Emo Stradbally was the gane of the weekend. Stradbally are underachieving year after year, they'll be very disappointed.

redsetanta

Fair play to Graigue on their win.

The big thing for Graigue is to repeat that sort of a performance/result at the business end of the championship and get to a final and win one.
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

Two decent enough games in OMP last night alright.
Port v Graigue was a slow burner but good strong finish from Graigue. As said, Walker was very good but Port missed Moore when he went off injured from that marking job. Byrne was excellent on Coffey. Collins very solid. Forbes kicked a great score and was very anonymous after that.
Port still down too many bodies. Piggott looked ferocious rusty! They'll breeze past Rosenallis and should be a lot stronger for the business end of the year.
BA just about deserved to win the first game but Courtwood will be kicking themselves for that missed goal chance at the end!
Marty Scully and James McWey were immense. The red haired midfielder (name escapes me) was great too and keeper saved them a couple of times. Full back Brennan did well on a very dangerous Ryan Little.
Usual names did well for Courtwood. Dunne and O'Flynn. Rob Tyrrell got through an amount of work. Very impressed with Mick Doyle, wing forward who went off injured and was a big loss to them.
Them and O'Dempseys should be a good one.
