game over at half time Athy streets ahead all over the field ports achilles heel came back to haunt them again no midfield.  i couldn't understand ports line taking off robert pigott after 20 mintues was he injured i know he had a yellow card but you don't take off one of your best players in a leinster semil final after 20 mintues. your problem was out the field not your fullback.

also bringing jake foster have way across the world to sit on the bench strange decisions from the port management. as for Athy a fine side it would be great if they could win next saturday nite instead of ballyboden besides the pick they have they also have county players from tipp, kerry, cavan, galway with them.

I think Piggott was injured to be fair. Never should have started Jordan Fitz - he didn't look right at all.
You're correct though - blown away in midfield. the two Bennetts when fully fit and available would make a massive difference to their defence.

Laois Rising

Ballyboden against Athy should make for a good Leinster. Portarlington got a couple of victories in Leinster and probably achieved as much as could have been expected of them. Down a couple of key players or players playing not at 100%. It was asking too much against a very good Athy team. I don't see this Port team winning a Leinster championship in the next couple of years. They will need to step up another level or two beyond what they have showed in the last few years. Winning a couple more county titles might be the ceiling for what this team can achieve.
