Id imagine its for galway going to the hurling after.

Why is playing within your province an advantage? Most counties in ulster hate tyrone. If armagh got a neutral Omagh venue against sligo for example, all tyrone ones would be cheering sligo.

Since when did HQ care about underage and matches clashing for supporers?

Only recently Donegal Minors was playing in Ulster semi-final the same time Donegal Seniors was playing in Killarney.

The idea that Cavan would be more of a home ground for Tyrone than Ashbourne is quite frankly laughable.

A lot of these clashes are down to provincial councils versus CCCC organising match times.
Yet another reason to get rid of the provincial councils.

Once integration goes through it's going to look even worse with ladies football and camogie games clashing.
They clash all the time currently but it at least can be blamed by having 3 different organisations. It will look a lot worse from a PR point when it is just one organisation arranging times (and they'll be a lot of grumbling about pitches as well).

Winning your province should guarantee a home draw.

I don't buy that excuse at all. CCCC if paying attention could avoid such clashes.  They don't even do a good job with their own fixtures sure take last weekend. On Saturday Cavan v Westmeath overlapping once it went to extra-time with Armagh v Derry and the same happened on Sunday with Dublin v Louth and Monaghan v Mayo.

Given the amount of hits the senior provincial championships has taken the provincial councils have done very well to get big crowds at their matches. HQ care little All-Ireland underage competitions and they will continue to push for U19 grade which will mean U17 will no longer be in the public eye.
