Over the Bar

Although tinged with disappointment given that anything less than the title is deemed failure at OT, they're won't be too many  retirements at any club in the world that can equal the medal haul of Giggs, Ferdinand, Evra and Vidic.  Tomorrow night will therefore be special as they will quite rightly be honoured as true legends.

Bitter sweet for Man U fans with rivals Liverpool only getting a draw but arch rivals looking like they'll take the title now.

Way the lesser of two evils.

Just read that Van Gaal has won 1 Champions League in 20+ years of managing 4 of the best teams in their respective leagues. Hardly the big fish they were calling for surely?

Best of what is available. His record of winning domestic leagues is excellent. Can only be an improvement on Moyes?

He has won 7 League titles with 4 Clubs. Not sure why you are including Az Alkmaar as a club who was supose to have won the Champions League.  They weren't expected to win the Dutch title, ahead of Ajaxm PSV, Feyenoord in the 08/09 season . They are a small club in comparison.

Kluivert won't be part of the management,  seems like Giggs will be assistant.

He should be a good appointment, though as a Liverpool supporter i was fearing that Ancelloti would get it.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Giggs picked a bad team today and United paid for it. Hernandez is a jack in the box type striker but he cannot play up top on his own. Young is a disaster. He will be an effective player for someone else but needs the door at United I'm afraid. I wouldn't give up on Nani but he is low on confidence and when that happens he is even more erratic and unpredictable and usually ineffective. This all meant Mata had absolutely nothing to work with for most of the game. He shouldn't have been taken off when he was.

Sad to see Fletcher being so poor. Hopefully it was just an off day. Evra excellent going forward but terrible (disinterested) defensively. Playing Rio at this stage is crazy too.

What seems to have been lost in all of this is that Giggs has only 2 more games left as a contracted United player. It's no lock he will play next year or be offered a playing contract for that matter. Will Tuesday be his last chance to play at Old Trafford?

Giggs has been sat in a changing room for the better part of 20 years and listened to the greatest manager ever and still but out that shite of a team, has he learned nothing over that time? Those same players won the PL at a canter last year so why couldn't they beat relegation threatened Sunderland at the theatre of dreams?

Yeah he should, do a solid job, have the team playing attacking football. It will be interesting to see what players he can add.

Trapattoni has a far better record. Youse should have went for him.

Prediction :Giggs to rip open the shirt with a jersey underneath and come on to score the winner to keep the scoring in every premier league run going.

How do ye all feel about Thomas Muller as a player? Johnny Evans now injured again. Hopes to be fit for start of next season.

Muller IMO always seems to be a support player, he plays well off the back of others doing well and playing well around him.

I wouldn't necessarily turn him down, but i dont know if he is the type of dominant midfielder that would be my priority.

End of era in OT tonight hopefully the beginning of a new one next season. Apparently Giggs has done a good write up about Vidic on tonights program. Giggs has also hinted he may stay on another year as player coach. Would be nice to finish a woeful season with a home win & decent performance tonight, surely Hull will have their mind set towards the FA cup final?

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open
