If the current management are to be judged similar to the last 2 then Meenagh would be out of a job today. Last year we were in the 'group of death' and ran Galway and Dublin close. This year we made average teams look like potential contenders. We are rapidly going backwards. Would things have been any worse if Tally had been given another year? While I like Meenagh and he should be given time it is clear some additional management experience is required. Just look at the backroom staff of other counties? I wonder how much McKaigue is responsible for keeping many of his past teammates on the team despite evidence pointing for a change. We are not far off from the standard when Gallagher took over. You can't tell me that Monaghan, Louth, Westmeath etc have better players than Derry.

I tell you something for nothing. Scullion should have been the keeper this year. His kick out game and range far superior to McGuckin

Quote from: Red10 on June 14, 2026, 08:48:37 AMSerious questions for this mamagement team. No plan for kickouts and in two games now the subs at the and of games just look like panic moves that cause confusion. Subbing the subs in two games shows desperation and a serious lack of faith and loyality. I can't see either of those lads committing again for next year and who could blame them. No serious management team is at that sort of stuff. Good luck to trying to get lads to commit to that then get hung out to dry.
I thought Baker would have been a reasonable option off the bench and that was a good enough call by management at half time, on paper.
But are you really suggesting he shouldn't have been took off yesterday? I think the way things were going the only complaint to management is they left him on too long.

Its a massive call and it will test any players mentality and commitment but based on yesterdays performance it was the correct call.

If that was the case about being on too long there should have been a lad off after 10 minutes who was roasted 3 or 4 times. I wouldnt advise any fella to go anywhere need this county set up. No loyalty except to the big names and not a clue what they are doing.

I stated on here about 4 months ago that Mc Grogan doesn't have the pace for inter county with the new rules. I was slated and got a trail of reasons why I was completely wrong. That fact remains.

Not being fast enough is of no reflection of the qualities Paudi has a person before the thats not fair crew come running.

Quote from: Topmarks on June 14, 2026, 10:04:29 AMI also felt that because we won so little ball from kickouts in the first and second half, we had to do some amount of running. It felt like we were chasing the ball for long spells all day. I felt this contributed to the last 20 mins where it never felt we had another gear or the energy to up it again.

This is a good point. We couldn't get kickouts away short at virtually any point. Just to try and build momentum even. McGuckin has acquitted himself really well but kick outs are a fundamental flaw in his game. Too slow. Not decisive enough. But he only began playing keeper 18 months ago so he has done well to get to where he is now.

We looked out of puff with ten minutes to go. Meath ran out deserved winners. They are a good team. But we are fast becoming the team that have thrown it all away.

He was, before Christmas didn't suit because of the business and newborn. He came in for Glen in preseason in probably the shape of his life tbh

Physically the strongest man on the panel, good luck to anybody trying to push him about. We're hardly in a position to be turning him away ffs. Was bad enough when I thought it was his own choice, he'll hardly come back now.

Lively enough game Swatragh v Ballinascreen. Screen well on top 1st half to lead by 6pts, should been more. Swatragh came into it 2nd half but Screen always had enough to keep ahead. Who the young skycraper at midfield for them? Screen has small forwards but they all very fast. Swatragh like kilrea, got players with discipline and attitude problems.

Brendan

I see Lavey dished out a good hammering to Vale, dark horses for the championship for sure this year.

Vale a shoo in for relegation now, who joins them? Screen seem to be pulling to safety now with a few men back which leaves Limavady and Kilrea in trouble.

Is there relegation playoffs in the championship again this year?

been at a good few games for both clubs and didn't see and major discipline issues? What gamed are you thinking. Attitude maybe yes but I'd say they know that.

Another poor result for Faughanvale although Lavey could turn a corner now with men back.
Its tight at the bottom but I'd say favourites for the drop would maybe be Vale and Limavady. Not sure who everyone has left to play but.

That Screen midfielder I think is a young fella walls (still a club minor)  I was at our game against Glenullin it was a very open game and finished up 2-27 to 4-12 in our favour  Eamon and Sean young togged out and ,showed well Oisin and Mark Doc impressive also ,

Surprised to see Sean out, think the sun was rising when most of them got home this morning
