When Sargent came on against Armagh, they said it was before he had made his debut for his club. If the lack of game time for Lynch is a risk the same would be true for Sargent, maybe more so given his complete lack of experience at senior level.
McGuckin would be unlucky to be dropped but I think they will go with Lynch, as long as they don't tell him to hang about the halfway line as the Meath keeper bombs the ball over his head and goals fly in behind him.
As an aside C Diamond seems to be named on the bench for every game, does anyone know if he has got any minutes at all in league or Championship?

Tommy Rodgers outside the 30 these days? I like see him and Cahal McKeigue get some league time nxt year along with Danny McDermott and a few others.

C Diamond nevers seems to get a chancw but he always been good at Uni level

Charlie played against Armagh last year and either 0ffaly or Cork this year in the league. He missed the McKenna cup and early stage of the league for sigerson. Highly rated but should be pushing on.

Lynch hasn't played any football in 2 years there's no chance he plays. Possibly only in after scullion leaving since the Armagh game. Really looking forward to seeing Sargeant playing.

Don't think we should be expecting too much from young Sargent. Not fair on the lad.

There's a lot more experienced lads who should be doing a lot better.

Crunch time tomorrow night. No idea what to expect. Just hope we get a decent support to get behind the team. Momentum is huge and if we can get a run on them the crowd will row in behind the team and that might give them a bit of energy when it counts. Really hoping we show a bit of fight and stomach for it.

Rogers is a potential future intercounty midfielder but needs to bulk up a good bit for senior intercounty in my opinion (I know he made an appearance last year)

McKaigue a bit of a random shout for me. Solid fella but not sure what his best position is yet and there were better footballers on that u20 team.

What natural position is that Forbes lad? Looks a solid player for his age

I would have said wing half back yeah he's a good player has had a steady start for his first full season.

GTP

We have a lot of wing half backs in Derry. Forbes would add a bit of pace to the half forward line if he plays there. Big switch from full back.

doh827

He was an attacking midfielder in his minor days so going forward isn't new to him. Judging by the team named we're set up to outrun Meath which I agree with, we dont have the forwards to rely on then to get a mutliple scores each so we'll need to have multiple scorers and having that many runners going at the Meath defence will be hard to defend.

JGDoire

We have needed changes for a year or more. About time. Hope it goes well. Thought Louglin ahould have started. Direct running at a poor Meath back line.

Every team has a lot of wing backs.

County teams now play a lot of half backs in the half forward line. Look at Armagh.

GTP

Forbes did well at fullback, I thought he was too good a footballer for being back there hopefully him and Sargent bring a bit extra up front which we have been missing.

I don't agree often with Mugsy but he's right Derry players walkout about with big sad heads looking depressed and feeling sorry for themselves time to put up or shut up today. Meenagh says dressing room full of leaders well let's see it today lads.
