Quote from: tyrone08 on June 30, 2026, 10:09:35 AMDoes anyone think tyrone suffered due to their ongoing protest of Allianz. If tyrone made it to an AI final it would be a huge headache for the GAA to have a team boycott Allianz. Its not that far of a stretch to be honest. Especially considering I believe they have would of one the AI if they had beaten Kerry.

Can anyone name a single other time when the ref, linesman and umpires all made wrong calls against the same team?

This is up there with the Jim Allister/Jeffrey Donaldson conspiracy.

I can imagine the conversation alright. Tyrone players or managers don't want to be interviewed in front of an Allianz sign. Lets make sure they don't make it to the AI final.

::)

Why do you think its a far stretch?  Do you think Allianz would be happy giving sponsorship money to GAA and have the winning team refuse to be associated with them at all? As far as conspiracy theories go this is hardly a stretch given the sheer amount of bad calls given against Tyrone by all officials and not just the ref.

Dont tell me you think the world is full of roses and goodwill.

So Paddy Neilan, linesmen and umpires were briefed on this beforehand? "Any call MUST go Kerrys way today lads." What about Brendan Cawley in the Mayo match - was he told about this need for Tyrone to be out of the championship? Maybe he will be blacklisted by the GAA for giving that last minute free kick to Tyrone? What about David Gough in the Roscommon game? He will likely have gotten a slap on the wrist for not giving a penalty to Roscommon. Or maybe it only applied to knock out matches?

Please tell me more about how this would have played out in the corridors of Croke Park? I'm genuinely intrigued. Maybe I am just too naive for this world and this goes on all the time.

What has David Gough got to do with it? This isn't about a single ref error this is about multiple errors made by all different officials in the same game- when have you ever seen that before?

Ref picks his umpires etc. Simple case of here Paddy it would be difficult for us if tyrone made it to a final.

You seriously telling me that you cant see a situation where a company paying millions of euro in sponsorship each year says we wouldnt be happy if the winning team is boycotting us. Jesus with all going on in the world these days this is the more straightfoward one to believe.

Lets review the errors-

Umpire stands on opposite side of the nets and awards a 45 to kerry when ball clearly kicked wide by Kerry player.
Linesman signals side line ball for Kerry when Conn caught it cleanly- ball never went out of play.
Ref incorrectly brings a mark up 50m for Kerry due to perceived infraction.
Ref doesnt bring a mark up 50m for Tyrone when Conn claimed the mark and was brought down moments later for a neck high challenge.
Teague pulled to ground after cleanly catching the ball, both Kerry players stop waiting for free to be given and ref waves play on.
Ref gives a hop ball after McGeary catches it and is pulled to the ground.

3 different officials cant make that number of mistakes without there being something else at play. Listening to the monday club podcast last night Cahair O'Kane in his own words said "i am adamant that tyrone got shafted"

So to continue this on then - does Paddy Neilan then give a bit of a talk to the 2 linesmen, 1 sideline official and 4 umpires before the match and tell them "here lads the GAA and Allianz have been on the phone and they have told me any chance you get to shaft Tyrone please do so and there might be free car insurance in it for you?"

And my reference to David Gough and Brendan Cawley is in relation to them reffing our previous 2 games. Were they not told that Tyrone need to be out of this championship ASAP? Was it just saved for the quarter final as it was our first knock out match?

You know you could actually be on to something here. . .

I agree with Square Ball and Dale. Something a Kerry man would come with and does not reflect well on us, tin foil hat stuff.

We got a raw deal but it's football. Very proud of that display by Tyrone, I couldn't see us being any tighter than 5 or 6 points as I thought bench impact for Kerry would allow them to pull away. It very nearly happened when they were spurning goal chances at 4 or 5 ahead but Tyrone died with their boots on and gave it some rattle. As sore a defeat as I can remember

Hardly tin foil hat stuff. The only active county opposing Allianz by refusing to sell programs or do interviews with their logo receives a very very hard time during their first knock out game. Use lads must think there is no such thing as collusion as the government could never do anything bad to its citizens.

Sean Kelly MEP

"Tyrone were magnificent & Malachy O Rourke was right about 'harsh' calls .But, I've been saying that  for sometime. For whatever reason, the decisive call nearly always goes against the underdog. Would love to see a Ph.D. on it . The evidence is staggering & not just in Gaelic football"

Shrewd statement from a politico.

Marc and Tomas said 4-5 bad calls. Though the O'Ses have a wee thing w Jacko.

Tough viewing it back, was there any confirmation Morgan was afraid to kick minus the tee in case he twinged something?

HokeyPokey

Serious tinfoil hat stuff.

Did Tyrone get shafted? unquestionably, but I very much doubt there was any conspiracy.

I really resent dislike of the Kerry fans though had a nice chat with a Kerry man on my way home, who gave us our dues, but this is a county going for 40 All-Irelands and then resent every one of our 4. They probably got handed this match and they could just accept they have the rub of the green, but they revel in it, claiming as if Tyrone got their come uppance for not lying down 20 odd years ago. Kerry have a fantastic record against us in recent years, but they still hold grudges. Kerry gave away 3 times as many fouls as Tyrone and slowed the game down plenty, made more than a few questionable 'tackles' but oh no it's Tyrone who are the cynical and defensive team. I think both teams played a great match in fairness, but the officiating and the reaction by many Kerry supporters leaves a sour taste...

The worst thing they were at was the "screening" though. One of the last points they got was also a foul when McElholm I think was taken out. They are at that all the time and get away with it even though it's completely illegal. Everyone does it within reason but they are very orchestrated and it feeds into their kickout strategy massively.

DaleCooper

Watched it back. Didnt win this time either. Horrible horrible hoors.

McCurry was clattered right at end by Foley on last kickout. Play on!

Which part was wrong? Did they get shafted, yes. Are they the only ones boycotting Allianz, yes.

Were they the only ones who got shafted? Galway would claim otherwise.

square_ball

What's Pauric Joyce and Galway's view on Allianz? I see they got a few dodgy calls as well.

Aaron Boone

I think it's a non-runner this one. Could have said the same a decade ago when Mickey Harte was boycotting RTE interviews.
Tyrone troublemakers though lol.

Quote from: NotedObserver on June 29, 2026, 07:21:38 PMAgain I think we will be looking for some extra height to help the midfield. Oguz, Aidan donaghy and Ben McDonnell have been out much of the year. Do Oisin McCann or McHugh have it? Conor Oneill coming onboard but not overally tall.

Daly hasn't really came on that much, Seanie has done decent this year but his position wouldn't be secure. Is there many options there in club football?

Again if Donnelly calls it a day could be looking for a target inside but in the game it is now maybe quick ball in to likes of Canavan and Mcelholm will do damage.
Strength and coditioning now the best and the eternal 2 big men problem. There sits McHughand McGleenon. McElholm has his feet under the table 2 Canvans and hopefully McCullagh to come in. Not a bad position with a rake of u20 and minors out there Colton etc.

Galway got more to complain about than Tyrone. 2 good goals denied in effect.
It is always about Kerry and Dublin not necessarily anti Tyrone or Galway. GAA looks like an extension of Trump's USA at times. Untrammelled capitalism or untrammelled bias anyway. I call it the Darby O'Gill Old Triangle syndrome, driven by money.

Didn't wee Katie look lovely parading across the pitch to the American fanfares?

What about the people? Killa my arse

He went on a rant about it but no one could understand him
