I've no idea then! But Chiles definitely mentioned something stupid like that, hopefully Slovenia will beat them and we won't have to worry anyway.

Yep, that must have been it. Wasn't sure of the goal difference. What way does the lot work?

Tie-breaking criteria
For the World Cup tournament, FIFA uses the following criteria to rank teams in the Group Stage.[68]

1.greatest number of points in all group matches;
2.goal difference in all group matches;
3.greatest number of goals scored in all group matches;
4.greatest number of points in matches between tied teams;
5.goal difference in matches between tied teams;
6.greatest number of goals scored in matches between tied teams;
7.drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee

If I were the yanks I wouldn't be too overly confident about picking up 3 points against algeria, they might see this as their 'world cup final' as Gerard might say, a chance to lower the mighty stars and stripes sported by the infidels of the US etc etc, and it's not as if the US players are infinitely better than them (the way the english lads were).

Didn't FIFA draw lots for ourselfs & holland in 1990 to find out whom we would play in the 2nd round? would be funny if England went home on lots
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

3 hours of football and Robert Green is still England's top scorer

scored more than england and france put together after 6 hours of football!!

I wouldn't mind see England get through if they were to meet Germany.

If Slovenia had of held on for a win, then they would have been guaranteed top spot with nothing more  to play for against England.
It's a sure sign that England's fate is sealed.

Gerry, easliy the quote of the tournament so far.

Brilliant, lmao here in bed.  Just woke up, planning a big day with mini-me, footy tonight, his footy tournament tomorrow and then England still playing shite.  God, life is good.

Aye, perk in my step this morning and for the rest of the day with the way England are going. France and England both out in the group stages, dare we dream?

If the final 2 games in this group are draws then England go out. Is that correct?

If England's game finished 0-0 and the other 2-2 it goes into a lot according to ITV...whatever way that works?
How the fcuk does that work?

Yahoo Sports has it all worked out here.....

The expected second round matchups between groups C and D are up the left. Germany and England could both finish second and I reckon they'd each beat the first place team from the other group. Germany v England would be a great second round match but England would be sure to be up for that one! I assume Klose would be back?

Aye about 6 million. Money well spent. To be fair he only has a shower of shite to work with.
