A ruling that was never going to please everyone and I feel sorry for Eamonn Fennell being caught in the middle of it. Can't personally blame him for wanting to leave O'Tooles who are/were one of only 3/4 clubs in the county I feared playing...... and not for their playing prowess.

However, I feel that a clear message has gone out that the "rights" of"smaller clubs" cannot be disregarded. The "rights" of individual players I admit has been sidelined for better or worse.

Still, this can and possibly will lead to some clubs vindictively not allowing transfers even when players completely fall out with the club.

This is going to rumble on.

I don't think so- its a case by case basis. This isn't a generic ruling. They had their reasons for not allowing it.

What can the DCB do. All div1 clubs (including mine) have been an absolute disgrace when it comes to transfer sin Dublin. A disgrace full stop. The DCB has to take a stand sometime to save the game in the capital.

There are safeguards now- hence the reason why Moyles hasn't transferred back to Meath. The Gaa rule book suggests you have to wait 2 years and you must transfer back to your original club. Because everyone was signing up for 12 months and then going to the club in thier county they were refused initially from.

I find the DCB statement containing words such as community centred, allegiance, loyalty, ethos, nurtured, etc. to be a tad ironic given their silence on Parnells using "incentives" to acquire players.

Total coincidence that Parnells come into big money, and suddenly they are acquiring new players...

ah give it a rest will ya.everyone knows the situation.nothing wrong with the INCENTIVE of giving a lad a job to promote gaa and the club in the biggest catchment area in ireland.cause at the end of the day G.P.O is a job and an important one too.
I think its a big loss with eamon,as soon the first o'tooles game is played and he isn't there then we cant use him,and judging by the cup games so far,we need him badly.thought he was great in both,his presence is huge.

Do you mean the M50 roundabout?
The one after that (to get into Blanch village) is gone now and there are lights instead.

Do you mean the M50 roundabout?
The one after that (to get into Blanch village) is gone now and there are lights instead.

If you're coming out from town out the Navan Road it can get pretty brutal from after the halfway house roundabout till you get through blanch alright. However at the end of the Clonee bypass till fairyhouse cross is crap as well due to the ongoing M3 roadworks. Depending on what time you're leaving at I'd be tempted to take the N2 and divert through Ratoath etc but if you need directions on that route PM me.

However with a 7.45 throw in it mightn't be that bad from about 7 onwards

Heffo - that northbound exit is usually OK and not as bad as other ones but as I said depending on time you're hitting the clonee bypass the tailback there can be brutal

Indiana - I'd be tempted to head out the new N2 and either exit at Ashbourne/Ratoath turn off go through Ratoath and head across to N3 at Dunshaughlin or even keep going on the N2 and either turn left for Rathfeigh/Skryne to come out on N3 near Tara or head out further to Balrath Cross and turn left and come into Navan on Kentstown road. Disadvantage is the cross country roads aren't great and depending on what time you intend to leave Dublin at the N3 traffic may have subsided.
