Kerry are 4 or 5 games into their league at this stage and they are in the same boat as us, actually worse because they didn't have a 4week gap between county games.

Is there a solution to be found in Dromore's 2024 recommendations?

That the Tyrone All County League and championship
format be amended as follows:
1. Restructure of 4 Divisions – Three Divisions of 12
(Divisions 1, 2 and 3A) and one of 13 (Division 3B)
- League Stage 1 – All teams Play 11 (12 in Division 3B)
league games from April to June (without county players)
- League Stage 2 - After the completion of Leaue Stage
1, divisions are split in half (with County players available
for ALL games). The top 6 (7 for Division 3B) play off for
league title in a league format, with the team finishing
top being league champions.
- Bottom 6 play off in league format to avoid relegation,
bottom 2 teams being automatically relegated
2. For the County Championship – top 4 teams in each
division (at the end of league stage 2) proceed straight
to championship quarter finals. The Remaining 8 teams
enter into an open draw in the championship first round,
the winners of the first round progress to the quarter
finals. The championship quarter finals draw to have the
teams in the top 4 in each division (at the end of league
stage 2) to be drawn against one each of the winners of
the championship first round.

RECOMMENDATION 7
That the Tyrone All County League format be amended as
follows:
Divisions 1 and 2
1. Stage 1 - Senior League to start in April and to be
played with maximum of 10 starred games played
between April and the end of June, followed by 5 nonstarred games (i.e. with county players) to be played
after Tyrone's exit from the Senior and U20 All-Ireland
Championships. Starred games to carry a points total of 2
points for a winning team and 1 for a draw and the 'nonstarred' games to carry a points total of 3 points for a win
and 1 for a draw.
2. Stage 2 – Top 8 teams in stage 1 to play off in a
knockout format for the league title with the 1st placed
team to play 8th placed team, 2nd placed team to play
7th placed team, 3rd placed team playing the 6th placed
team and 4th placed team playing 5th placed team,
team 1 to 4 having home advantage with semi-finals
and final at a neutral venue. Bottom 8 teams to play
in a knockout format with the 9th placed team playing
the 16th placed team, the 10th placed team playing the
15th placed team, the 11th placed team playing the 14th
placed team and the 12th placed team playing the 13th
placed team, teams 9 to 12 having home advantage,
the winners of these games being safe from relegation,
the losers playing each other at a neutral venue with the
losers of this second round of games being relegated ....
The exception being in the case of one of the losers in
the relegation play-offs winning the championship in
which case the lowest placed team in stage 1 not already
relegated bring then relegated.
Divisions 3A & 3B
Divisions 3A and 3B to remain in the same format as
already proposed for 2025

Tyrone is the only county in Ireland that base their club championship on their club leagues (div 1 senior, div 2 intermediate etc).that's why league football is so competitive and why it is delayed with the u20s.

Kerry as you mentioned are able to play their leagues as it doesn't matter in terms of championship football which is fairly obvious when they have division 1 teams winning intermediate and junior all Irelands

Do Armagh not base their championship on what league you are in?

They do. 1a and 1b (8 teams in each) make up senior championship, 2a and 2b make up intermediate and rest are in junior.

Teams are then seeded for group stage depending on league finish,eg first 4 teams are seed 1. I find it works well however, teams in 1b and 2b get 2 home games in group which I would personally change.

We will beat eskra out the gates today and make a statement for the Pat Darcy cup

Eskra in real trouble at the bottom of the table. Surprising loss for Tattyreagh also, was a long range two pointer at the death that beat them.

I believe its Tattyreaghs plan to miss division 3 and go straight to 2 by winning the championship.

Not the right thread I know, but I hope you say as much when Tyrone seniors lose as you did when the u20s lost

It's like it never happened

Not to read into it too much but interesting start to the reserve league

Dungannn Edendork and Ardboe all on 1 win with galbally clonoe and coalisland taking up 3 out of the top 6 spots

is this a hint of the teams that are ready for the start of the senior league ?

No

Kick it in high

Its starting to look like Eskra and Drumragh could be in a dog fight to stay up. Who would have predicted that in Div 3?

You would hope Galbally, Clonoe and Coalisland are up for it at the start of the senior league, a bad start for any of them and the chances of them staying up drop very quickly.

I would suggest Greencastle will struggle this year, not going well by all reports. Few in-house issues. Seems to always be a problem in Greencastle which is a pity considering their ability.
