Sure they pulled their amalgamation and got rid of half the committee just to amalgamate again.. as for the individual up the the board blaming urney I have heard what happened from a neutral who was at the game and he claims that the Gortin coaches should never be allowed to coach underage football again.

I notice quite a few of their "reformed" committee involved in the wwe videos today, no wonder alot of good Gortin people opted out of the committee if that's the people they had to deal with.

The key question for me why, in Tyrone, are these leagues finals played after the championship?

In my opinion, your season should finish when you get knocked out of championship.

Not an excuse for this brawl but game shouldn't have been played in early November. Just asking for trouble.

If Urney were winning the game well and the game was nearly over it seems odd they would want to start a free for all. Teamtalkmag reported the half time score as Urney 5-5 Gortin no score. I think if you are that side of a scoreline you've to just accept your second best. Gortin won the grade 4 Championship and got to the league final one piece of silverware and runners up in the league is not bad at any level. Disappointing that the game couldn't have finished and that Urney have been denied an underage title.

Unfortunately it's not as simple as that, if there are spectators on the pitch fighting, then the ref has no other option but to abandon the game regardless of the time played...
It doesn't seem to be in the thoughts of those adults involved in the fighting, that their actions will result in the game being abandoned, from either club. Everybody can argue about what sparked the row, but nobody can deny the choices made by adults afterwards were extremely poor.

Is there a club on the Donegal side of the border that these Urney ones could transfer to?

Why would Urney youth want to do that?

Agreed a handful of adults have ruined the final for the young men taking part. I wasn't saying the referee shouldn't have abandoned the game I just don't understand the behaviour of the handful of lunatics one man looked like a bull let of the pen at the mart.

Would there be any chance of the club u20 or u21 competition coming back into play after Christmas .I feel like it would be a good way to get younger lads on senior teams abit of football. Its been 2-3 years since it has played last i feel like it would be good to have it back.

Saw the video.

Hi viz senior and hi viz junior the big story here. What club were they from. Felt sorry for hi viz junior very upset that hi viz senior got attacked. You would wonder why adults would behave like that in front of kids as young as that.

Although the county board must take on responsibility as the match was played at an intended venue.

I see gortin Facebook have concluded there u16 season.... Nothing to aeee here mucker move on. 🤣

Apparently police involved with claims of assault on an adult man and a child from Gortin, not a good day for the GAA, I'm told that Urney have recently launched a fundraising ticket sale, this is not the kind of publicity they would want.

quit yo jibbajabba

On Belfast Live yes police involved

paddyjohn

Suspend them both for a year or 2. Close the grounds.

Surely the big men from Urney wouldn't be running to the police? Anytime i have been there there have been a few try flexing the muscle's over the fence.

But agree with the other poster. Regardless of the pitch, it shouldn't happen. Both clubs should have the pitch closed for a year.

There's brawls every week in the sport, I remember a few years ago in Cookstown a man pulled a blade and went at the referee.
The Gortin man that clipped the child deserved a hiding if you ask me.
As for closing the clubs, be nothing about it. The county board will say it's a police matter and that'll be the end of it, shambles
