Here is a link for a few of the Saurez highlights from last night.  He is some wee bull and I reckon not only will he score goals and create goals but he will pull cards out of referees as he is always in the thick of it and defenders will foul him consistently.

At least FSG have some type of roadmap in place in terms of player recruitment (DC) and player profile <25yrs and i guess the manager at this stage. This together with a sizeable budget during the summer should take care of the on field activities. Off the field, Ian Ayre is the main man and has proved his worth with the 80% increase in commercial revenue and the standard charted and new kit sponsorship. The real test will be the stadium situation, stick or twist with Anfield. FSG got a good deal on the club at the time and know it's real worth as a new or revamped stadium with a league championship under their belt would make it an attractive profit proposition for an exit strategy. John henry seems to be a man of the coomon folk type guy and seems to want to build a sense of community with his projects instead of extraction $$$. Hats off to him anyway for landing the beautiful Linda, if he can pull a stroke like that with liverpool, anything is possible.

You watch how many times Hangelaand fouled him and Salcido?  What I mean is that the way he plays will put defenders constantly in fear of fouling him and will not tackle for fear of getting cards.  This will give him a serious advantage.  I am not saying he should try and get others carded, that is wrong, but if it is in the mindset of the marker that he can't risk a card then it is advantage Liverpool.

There is a lot of bandwagon fans and Japnese tourists at the Chelsea and ManU games. You get more of tye real die hard and knowledgeable football fans at the lesser teams.

Yeah, have to agree with the above statement. Fans of Arsenal, Utd, Pool, (more recently) Man City and Chelski, look at the Big picture all the time. Smaller clubs have a more localised fanbase. They appreciate an away draw, a good performance despite a loss, they know more about the lesser players in the league.

I have a friend who grew up a Liverpool fan. He moved to London in the early 90's and started (Ironically) supporting QPR. He found; the family athmosphere, prices, knowledge of game and passion unbelievably brilliant.

I follow United and Tranmere Rovers...so where does that leave me? birkenhead manc mongrel?

Use to follow Tranmere myself when Aldo was playing and then managing them.I would still look out for their results even now.
I even had a Tranmere jersey with his name on the back.

His style wasn't always the best to look at,they had a Rory Delap type player who could throw a ball longer than he could kick it, but in fairness to Aldo he very nearly brought them to the Premiership and then there was the Cup runs and League Cup final.
Often wondered why he didn't try his hand at another club.
I'll never forget the night they were 3-0 to Southampton in the FA Cup and came back and won 4-3.
