Excuse my ignorance, I dont tend to watch the sport except for big games as I find it boring but when was the last time Liverpool finished above United in the league?

My Facebook is now polluted with fans of Liverpool and United giving each other grief and it has really took off this year and is sickening to read the petty quarrelling. Why do these two teams dislike each other so much as they have not been proper rivals for any of my lifetime.

Once in 20 years?

EagleLord

I remember seeing that video years ago! Forgot about it in the midst of all this racism craic. Sad that really, such a big deal was made of it, that he was so horrifically offended when it suited him.

Yip, and in 4 other years Liverpool finished one place behind United (usually when United had a dip!).

But in the previous 20 years, United only got as high as 2nd twice when Liverpool were almost always league contenders.

Going head-to-head against each other to win the league has viturally nothing to do with the intense rivalry that has existed for 40+ years. Only 3 times in those 40 years have they been the best 2 teams in England (Liverpool winning the head-to-head battles 2-1 by the way  ;)  )

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Because they are so alike, and spend years trying to prove how different they are.

Hashtag

Get on Liverpool and Oldham to draw tonight. The replay will mean one less PL game for LS to miss.

Last minute Carra OG to take it to the replay.

Didn't realise the FA cup game was tonight. Is it televised on any channel?

No it's not on any channel. You might be able to find a stream for it somewhere. Failing that you'll have to go to Anfield.

I thought it was odd that they are playing it on Friday night but not putting it on the box somewhere, thought moving it to the Friday was the reason it was moved.

The reason it was moved was nothing to do with TV-a policing issue with both Everton and them both drawn at home
