5 attacking players and one holding in your front 6. cant see that happening. Its like a fantasy team
and Kuyt will play every game, no matter how many signings they make

Throw Mereiles and Kuyt in there until someone proves they are better. If they do prove better than those two we will havw one heck of a team.

Start your midfield with Gerard Mereiles and Lucas and go from there. Throw in Kuyt on the right and Suarez up front.  Then you have Carroll, Downing and Adam competing for one more spot. It all depends on who is in form and what the game plan is. For now I would pick Downing. So something like

Capt Pat's team looks a good one based on what we have a available. I think we could see a variation of that formation quite a bit this season as on paper at least we appear to have plenty of quality players in the middle third.

Would really love to see Carroll hit the ground running this season though because when on form he will be very difficult to stop!

For the first time in years Liverpool have a decent squad.I'd say Kenny will try different formations like 5 3 2 or 4 3 3 which seems to be the one all the top teams use now

As a sub,  when players are injured, as part of squad rotation for the less important games. I wouldn't pick him to start right now if all were fit. However Gerrard is injured so he may get a chance straight away.

Carroll will definitely start the season if he remains fit. Obviously we'll know more after the next 2 friendlies but with Gerrard out, Lucas and Suarez possibility getting a longer rest, Aqua moving and no sign of Raul (anyone know what's the situation with him?) the team won't be that hard to pick.

Would definitely like a new LB but think we aren't too bad for cover.
