babel was shocking again, i'm afraid i dont see the 'potential' that people keep talking about, he was decent against villa, but thats the one decent performance since he came to the club. time to ship him out in january
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

Didn't get to see the match tonight, and glad I didn't, sounds like a woeful spectacle!! Had bore written all over it even before Hodgson decided to changed his supposed starting team. Be interesting v fulham at the weekend, hope Stevie plays some part as we need something to lift us!

I have studied this issue in great depth. I think football people are subliminally distracted by the 1st 4 letters in his name and can't see past that. No matter how shite he is.

Was he? Insua was a young fella who played far too much last year, wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination but before that had showed great promise and wasn't directly responsible for goals like PFK has been.

PFK was bought for way too much money, has little future ahead of him for his position and hasn't offered anything, defensively or getting forward.

In effect Roy swapped a 21 year old for a 29 year old, where the latter is no improvement and he paid 5m plus increased wages for the honour.

Or Insua wasn't english or a Roy signing.

WTF has that got to do with anything. I couldn't care if an alien played left back or if Hicks/Gillete signed him. It was a terrible move, alot of people wanted Insua moved on or used as a backup left back but replaced by some quality. Insua has effectively gone on a free, while PFK got a 5 year contract and is weaker than we had.

Why didn't you post that in your first comment? You obviously couldn't wait to get it out.

Sure it looks like bad business but IMO Konchesky is used as a scapegoat the other defenders are hardly playing much better?

Insua qualifies as "English" under the home grown rule and therefore that cannot be used as an excuse. TBH the deal involving PFK coming in to replace Insua was a poor bit of business and I don't think the new owners are too impressed with it and other deals done before they bought the club. The only possible saving grace in relation to Insua is that he is not favoured by the new manager of Gala and may be back at Anfield.  If you look at a lot of goals conceded this year there has been a high number from right wing crosses.
