Fulham game called off today because of the snow, pitch playable but the surrounding area not safe for travelling.  The manager has lost one of his "comfort" games at a crucial time as this game won't be played till probably Feb time.  Next game is away to Blackpool so that is very weather determined as they have no under soil hetaing for the pitch.  If that goes ahead and Liverpool have their usual away performance then there is massive pressure on going into the Wolves game at Anfield on 29th.  The last 10 games in PL and Europe tell a very sad story.  W 3  L 3 Drawn 4.  No away wins, 1 point out of 12 away from Anfield is dreadful, all season they have played away from home 9 times, and have picked up 5 points from 27!!!!!!!  The longer it continues the more agitated I become. >:(

sure you still have the ulster club in the bag and an AI semi final to look forward to. Not bad

Have to get to the semi first ;)  I don't like being a supporter, I think I'll get in more trouble on the sideline than I ever did on the field ;D

i know how you feel

King Kenny

Having watched the phone in with Henry, Warner and Ayre,  I am reasonably happy that Hodgson is a dead man walking.  The timing of his sacking will be interesting.  Perhaps if the game had went ahead today and a draw or defeat happened, the Blackpool game could have been the big one for Woy.

As it stands, I can see him staying well into the New Year.  Any signings made in January will be on the say so of Comolli, and not Woy.

The owners mentioned Comolli frequently throughout the phone in, and it is obvious that it is he who is making the decisions on transfers in both the short and long term.

For those of us who may be hoping for signings to make a major impact on this season, I feel that this will not happen.  The feeling I got was that this will be at least a three year project to have us competing again for honours.  I, personally, could live with that.

If the Utrecht game showed us anything, it was that our second string or back up players are of a distinctly average ability.  This is something we share with United in my opinion.

In general,  my ambitions for the season have been achieved.  Getting shot of Hicks and Gillette and leaving the club debt free has been massive.  I like the way the new owners talk, and am realistic enough to know that we will have to be patient for a couple of years.

But let's face it lads, apart from our European journeys in 05 and 07, we have grown accustomed to being patient!

there's no substitute for class:

The mother of Paul Konchesky has lashed out at Liverpool fans, calling them "Scouse scum" on her Facebook site.

Carol Konchesky, whose son plays left-back for the club, took offence at criticism of the player who joined from Fulham for £4m last summer. She told Liverpool's fans to stop "living off the past" and described Roy Hodgson's side as "shit".

One friend responded by telling her to ignore "dirty Scousers" and "clueless morons" while another said: "The Liverpool scum don't know class when it hits them in the face."

The Facebook account was taken down when fans started sending in angry messages.

A club spokesman told the Liverpool Echo: "Mrs Konchensky's comments are inappropriate and have already been removed from Facebook. This does remain, however, a private family matter."

In an earlier post Mrs Konchesky, who lives in Dagenham, said the family would not be moving to Liverpool with their son as "we don't like the way they talk".
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Right lads would you have Rafa back? Obviously there is pros and cons and a lot is unclear to the average fan about reasons and influences surrounding his exit but given the choice right now I think I would definitely take him back provided that his vision and the vision of the owners for the club was the same.

Bingo

Harsh enough team in that you hearly have to be considered as a good player to get on it.

Maybe underachieveing team of the year would be a better description. Not sure how PFK didn't make it, while Johnson did.

Torres will always have his double against Chelsea to look back on that started the chelsea fall from grace. At least Chelsea had a few points in the bag otherwise given their current run they'd be looking at a relegation battle and trying to get other games called off over the christmas.

Bah-humbug post of the season!  ;D

Another day, another tactless press conference from Uncle Woy. In today's episode he tells the us he didn't really want to sign Joe Cole, that it was a Purslow signing. He's happy to take "responsibility" for PFK though  :)

Quote"It's a difficult one for me to answer," said Hodgson. "I was involved in the discussions with him, but the initiative and the desire to take Joe did come from Christian [Purslow, then managing director] perhaps more so than myself because I wasn't in the position to say these are the players we should be targeting as I hadn't been offered the job at that point.

"He's not so much a player I can take responsibility for. I'd have to share the responsibility for Joe, less so than people like Poulsen, Meireles and Konchesky, who are players I was happy to bring to the club.

He really should not be allowed to do press conferences, every day there is another snippet of his "genius" accumulated from his 35 years of experience spewed out.  He has passed the buck on everything that has gone wrong so far and is a waste of a wage.  I don't necessarily want Rafa back but I have no doubt the club wouldn't be in the shit heap it is now if he was still there.  The sooner a new CEO is appointed the sooner a new manager can be found, time for NESV/FSG to start moving.

Continuing to change your managers and owners will not make your players any better.
I'm gonna punch you in the ovary, that's what I'm gonna do. A straight shot. Right to the babymaker.

Yes it will when it comes to managers.  Liverpool have the core of a team that were runners up to Man Utd 2 seasons ago.  They have added some quality and lost some quality but I still believe that with the right tactics(from a different manager) then this Liverpool team could compete with any of the top teams

Reina

Kelly  Skertl/Carra/Sort  Agger  Aurelio

Merieles  Lucas

Johnson  Gerard  Cole/Maxi

Torres

I know Cole hasn't done it but I think he can.  There are also a number of good squad players that would be in most squads in the top 6 but there is quality needed.  I still think with the right manager there is the nucleus  of a very good team but a lot of deadwood needs moved on.
