Hard one to call.  Monaghan certainly won't approach this one with an inferiority complex!

Merge probably needed.

Who will Monaghan be missing for this? Is it only Tommy Freeman? Lost interest in reading the thread about the fall out of their last game after the someone started the same kneeing argument for about the 17th time.

Yeah, see this is just the type of thing I was worried about. If they do this then they really are of a shower of w*nkers.

And calling them naughty names will help a lot, lol

I hardly think it'll help but it's what I'd think, and what a good few others would think too I'd imagine.

It will be a difficult close match but its exactly the match that if we can win will give us good momentum through the following rounds.

I also agree with follow posters that it should be a double header with the minors, it makes perfect sense.

One problem folks,  The minor game is an Ulster Council game.  Qualifier is an All-Ireland series.  Ulster Council will want their own gate more than likely.  Where it is the logical thing to do,  dont be suprised if it is not on

If this is the case then season ticket holders might get a decent seat if the Ulster Council aren't allcoating the tickets. Could also scupper plans for the minor match being on before hand as the Ulster Council won't be getting their gate for it.
How much would the gate be worth for a stand-alone minor fixture?

You would like to think it would be no more than £5.

Was the Down v Cavan Minor game the only game that was at the Athletic Grounds a few weeks back? Anyone at it to know how much it was in.

I meant the full game - like how much it would yearn the UC in total. Can't imagine more than a few hundred fans. For the effort of opening and preparing the ground, it would be a petty move to demand it as a stand-alone fixture.

Ah rite. Cant imagine there would be that many at it, possibly similar to a club championship game. Might not be worth the hassle, but it is the Ulster council after all!

Lads, is this definitely on the 4th and is it likely to be on late in the evening? Leaving for my holidays in Kerry that day but if it was on early enough I might be able to convince the wife to take a detour.

More than a fiver I'd say. THink the u21 championship was £7 or £8 so would expect Minor to be something similar.
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead

armaghniac

Also a lot of fans, other than families of players etc, might be a bit put out at having to go a second day to Newry because of the GAA not being able to sort this, so reducing the gate further.

I'm hoping it's early so that i can catch it on route from Belfast to Kerry.

That's a bit of a coincidence.

What's the best guess for kick off time?
I presume there is a good chance  it will be televised.

That would have been a Derry lad  :)

Freeman is out. Hopefully a few other players like Eoin Lennon and Rory Woods will be fitter.
I was going to write,  will be fitter and hungrier, but  that's leaving the door wide open for pc violations.

First team to hit the ground running will steal the game.

gerry

Has to be the best game of today draw. Tommy freeman will be a big miss
God bless the hills of Dooish, be they heather-clad or lea,
