Not just that "can be used offensively" but that "is relied upon" by the Ukrainian militarily.

They shut off access to any device travelling at speeds greater than 100mph. Incoming Shahed missiles are going at about double that, so Ukrainian intercept capability has been decimated.

Look-Up!

That's the system Trump has control of though, right? Not regular Starlink? Starshield it's called.

It looks sorta obvious now that Trump been got at by Russia yrs before he become president. Qho ever gonna trust americans again. The UK ordered up a ton of them F35 jets, but need constant US updates out of their control. Talk about stupid. Canada turned round and decided to go elsewhere for fighter jets, mainly based on cost but now see it as a sensible move.

Been doing a deep dive on this today because I initially thought wtf.

Turns out it's not what it seems. There wasn't a drop in comments or posts, but http requests which search engines and web crawlers run in the background 24hours a day so that when you search for something, it's there to click. The reason for the high % is because these programs access websites at a much higher rate than actual humans, and these data centres hosted the Russian version of Google.

Looks like St Petersburg took a hell of a beating last night after a 'wholistic' targeted drone attack by the AFU

Drones struck St Petersburg oil terminal, a VK data center, a bridge, e-commerce Ozon mega warehouse, a power substation and reports of a gas facility nearby.
According to Downdetector, network connectivity dropped faster than a Russian general from an open window on the 5th floor.

Germany's Chancellor Merz:

My biggest concern at the moment is not our economy, is not the European Union, is not America, is not China.

My biggest concern is the impact of Russia on our society and how they are succeeding in destabilizing our societies.

These people have gone off the deep end.

The Russian threat should not be underestimated. They have played a massive role in destabilising the World since 2008 and have adapted to modern warfare tactics.

True, but the threat of actual war is basically zero. There is little doubt however Russia had a huge impact on Trump getting elected and likely Brexit as well.

The cheek of the Americans criticising Russia over this satellite thats helping Ukraine!

Historically yes. But that was when warfare was conducted with guns, tanks and bombs. It's a more sophisticated beast, and Ireland is a weak point for Europe in the sense that it is a poorly guarded (in resourcing terms) access point to Europe. Essentially the threat is much higher, not necessarily in terms of combat with Russia, but in terms of Russia seeing us as an access point. And that doesn't even consider cyber-warfare which can be achieved remotely.
