Quote from: rogercasement on October 04, 2026, 09:24:06 PMWas at the match today and similarities between it and our game with Rossa were unreal. Like us Cargin merely thought they had to turn up. Like us once Rossa got a run on them they had nothing left to give. Like us they made a lot of strange decisions and Like us the officials seemed hell bent on making sure Rossa stayed it it. Fair play to Rossa all the same.

Away on with that shite. You were beat by the better team as were Cargin.

Take your cry baby shite up the M2 with you.
Saying it as I see it and let me be very clear, I was delighted to see Rossa win so there wasn't tears from me.

PólAointroim

Your tears have maybe dried in a fortnight roger,  surprised you have any left given the shitshow you boys let out every year.

Shocked at the result today, Rossa had an excellent 2nd half. Cargin piss poor and look completely cooked. Never saw it coming at all, but Belfast is alive! Hopefully the Jerrys finish the job!

Think that's the end of the road for Cargin, well done Rossa much deserved winners

belfastsaff

went into the weekend in hope rather than expectation of an all Belfast final. Delighted.

Rossa have came out of no where to be genuine contenders and will not fear St brides in the final at all. At that St brides put on a very St Galls like performance against Dunloy, how comfortable they are on the ball  is a joy to watch.

Chatting to a few cargin ones before the game who did have genuine concern on the change of referee before the game - maybe they were covering their tracks and making excuses just incase but thought mark oneill done a good job.

BS was right all along the championship is wide open  ;D

Hectic

Great stuff from Rossa, and indeed St Brides (albeit much less of a surprise).

Hard to know where things are at in the pecking order now.

Championship always the true measure so maybe the fancied SW club's are flattering to deceive at this point. In the cases of Cargin, Creggan and Portglenone maybe even regressing.

Dunloy can be excused given they are battering on two fronts and perhaps getting out of hurling early helped Rossa show their true worth.

Further fuel for the argument to decouple leagues and championships with Rossa also being a good example of a club that contributes well to county teams and also manages a heavy dual load during the league season.

Gaels1789

Some result for rossa didn't see that coming but fair play to them completely deserved it.

Cargin thought they'd the game won before throw in and it showed in the second half. Cargin starting to slip..

Ronan devlin surely be gone now? Heard he got some abuse from Cargin supporters after the game which is sad to see. great coach and manager.

Be an interesting final biddies surely start as favs but rossa don't care about the bookies as u have seen past 2 games

belfastsaff

and an all belfast intermediate final .... we will claim aldergove when it suits us  ;D

PólAointroim

There is often discussion here about in house managers versus paid managers. Sean Fleming is in a county final with total underdogs, great to see. Hopefully they see it through but St Brides will be a tougher task than yesterday for them. But then again, Rossa had no chance yesterday in my eyes either  ;D

Quote from: Antrim on October 05, 2026, 08:29:02 AMThe new rules have turned everything on its head. Had that game been 2 years ago, Cargin would have bored people to death with a 0-07 to 0-04 win.

Rossa showed adventure and stayed in the game long enough to give themselves a chance with the breeze in the second half but still had a lot to do. Some unbelievable scores from the right as I was watching it from the stand side.

Some strange decisions from Cargin management or maybe the well.has run a bit dry. They brought on a few players who got on the ball but slowed the game up and was afraid to kick and allowed Rossa to get back in shape by going backwards with the hands all the time. Tough kicking conditions but McNabb was very poor yesterday. Johnstone and Laverty were decent to good. Walsh brought physicality to mark McCann who didnt like it and was behaving a bit like Ronaldo. Shivers was given all he wanted and more in Midfield. Although he won plenty of ball he didnt show the same amount of dynamism as Liam McEnhill did. I thought for such a young man, he gave an amazing performance. Rossa's McMenamin was their star performer but kudos have to go to young Walsh who worked his socks off.  Dominic McEnhill had his shooting boots on. Couldn't believe how timid Cargin were on him. Very unlike them. Byrne was the standout keeper and showed why hes the best in the business. Oozed class and showed up a lot in the Cargin half but his kicking was superb.

Overall the best team won. The wind was always going to be a factor.  Rossa like Dunloy last year, played with freedom and hit Cargin with pace and enthusiasm. Cargin tried (again) to be methodical and slow and must have a rule where only certain people can shoot. They looked devoid of ideas and little creativity bar Laverty attacking from deep. They had their opportunities against the wind but their kicking let them down. They're far from done like but thats two years in a row they havent learned or maybe just dont have the quality anymore.

You have basically said everything I said, yet I was talking shite🧐

For once, the final will be on a ground where it couldn't be more neutral if you tried.
And limited travelling for both teams.

Please point out to me where I made any reference to the referee being a factor in Cargin's defeat?

I think you're missing the point entirely. You were talking shite that the referee got you and Cargin beat. I dont think I mentioned Mark O'Neill once. The only bad thing about his appearance were his white boots!
Aside from the referee all my other points were as you said!! I am just talking about what I seen. The referee didn't get us or Cargin beat and I didn't say that. What I did say was on both occasions the referees seemed to lean towards Rossa as they had momentum, it helped them. We were beaten fair and square BUT if the first penno, given for a blatant dive hadn't been given we would have been in semi. And for what it is worth Cargin would have beat us cos they would have been up for it, unlike yesterday.
