Quote from: Rossfan on October 04, 2026, 05:23:55 PMSt Brigids haven't gone away.
2-3 to 5 down c 20 mins.
Won 3-22 to 2-8

Strokestown was still leading 2-6 to 0-11 on 38 minutes some finish to the game by Brigids showing why they have reached two recent All-Ireland finals and two finals they could have won.
Quote from: StephenC on October 04, 2026, 06:14:37 PMThe football gods can be just sometimes.

The Mayo IFC QF repay between Islandeady and Kiltane went to extra time AGAIN but this time Islandeady had the 20 minutes the would have expected to have the last day against 13 men. They totally dominated the additional 20 minutes out scoring them 1-06 to 0-01.

Looks like justice done in that one alright
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Some comeback for cross. What were they - 13 points down? Rossa were eleven points down in Antrim too and won. Momentum in new rules massive.

All the more remarkable when Cross were down to 14 players for the last ten minutes. Clann Eireann looked unstoppable in the first half and looked like they'd been on the beer at half time in the second half. Cross are 2 point merchants, they have about 4/5 players that can shoot on sight outside the arc, that's without the breeze.

There was a good wind. Said at HT it's not over, but I did expect Clann Eireann to see it out, they will have nightmares about this game. Fair play to Cross, enormous talent got them over the line,  they still dont look like a fully gelled team. I know with the new rules defences can being out to dry but Cross look pretty vulnerable at the back all the time. Killeavey probably happier that Cross came through. Rian got a straight red for a full frontal shoulder so will miss final, doubt it will be overturned.

CE really fecked that today. At one stage Morgan shouted that's their purple patch over so they must have been expecting cross to come out all guns blazing. 4 up, I think, when Rian got the red. Should have seen it out.
The balls on Oisin to take that last free on. Fair play to him

Ashbourne-Donaghmore vs Wolfe Tones in the Meath Senior Final.

Rathoath and Summerhill both knocked out in the semis who were most people's tip for the final.

Menton leading the way for Ash-Don. Caolan Ward shows it runs in the family for Tones. Hoping to replicate the success that Cian Ward had for the club.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Didn't watch but hearing cross got the rub with the ref?

Briefly coached Tones' Tom Gavigan a few years ago. Serious footballer and was some size of a young fella.

CE may be aggrieved with a couple decisions but I wouldn't say cross got the rub with the ref

First things first, hard luck CE. Approached the game in the right way and played some lovely football in the first half. We couldn't get a hand on you and some of the movement was exceptional. It will be gutting today so I won't give you sycophantic platitudes. That would have been a very hard dressing room to be in, I know what it's like.

I knew we would make some level of a comeback, that wind was always worth 6-7 extra scores but I never imagined the level of score taking that happened. The first 10 minutes of the 2nd half was exceptional and we were like men possessed, in stark contrast to the first half. Work rate increased, movement changed and players started taking responsibility for their own actions. The reality is we should have had at least 2 goals as well. Dropped ball and wrong last pass prevented that (as well as some great blocking by CE).

I was on the other side from the sending off. It looked high from where I was so ref was probably given a decision to make although it did look more like a big man on a smaller man. I've been there before so generally it goes the way of the smaller man so while maybe harsh will likely be hard to appeal. It was a shame as it wasn't a dirty game at all. Ref a bit picky by times but not a really dirty stroke the whole game but still a hard hitting game. Tough championship football.

As for the finish that was outstanding technically and psychologically by Oisín but having seen those lads from they were kids they never backed down from a challenge. I would actually say though that Pierce Blessings 2 pointer was the best of them all as it's not something you'd expect from him and that is more exceptional.

Onto the final, of course we will be favourites but that doesn't mean we will win it. Finals are strange events if you've never been there before so how Killeavey deal with that will be important. We have men who have been there before but we also have a lot of new comers so that could have a bearing. Yesterdays game will have done us the world of good so here's hoping!!!

If East or North Kerry win it then out who represents Kerry in Munster?
