Just horrid stuff and shameful on BBC/TUV to allow that level of attack on the residents. Worse he's getting.

There should be a public notice for nationalists to boycott Nolan - radio and tv.

No guests or callers etc.

Only fermenting division.

If  the Nolan show couldn't get a  Garvaghy Road resident or a nationalist politician onto  the show , would the  debate (or let's face it, the show)  have even happened?

Surely they couldn't have proceeded with  a one sided debate?

Has the CC said yet how the PSNI got the parade difficultly assessment so wrong?

Well that's the way it needs to be. No nationalist should go on his shows.

As someone else alluded to, if his shows were about 30 years ago, there'd have been no GFA etc.  I think that's a fair comment. Look how he's elevated Bryson. It's certain to say Bryson would be nowhere if it wasn't for Nolan platforming him on a daily basis for listening/viewing figures.

No nationalist should watch or listen to his shows either. That's just my opinion. I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me.

Its incredible after everything that they went on. Nolan should be a pariah.

Just give a statement via social media "Stephen Nolan has given airtime to unelected agitators and bears moral responsibility for what has transpired. We urge everyone to boycott and tune out of his shows that depend on controversy"

That seems to be the key to the whole thing. Who in the PSNI made the bogus assessment that there'd be no trouble if the parade proceeded? If the Chief Constable signed off on that then he needs to go.

I can't understand why SF are not focusing more on this. This it the key area. Whoever made that decision should be pulled over the coals.

Yup that is critical. Who precisely in the PSNI decided it was not contentious? Like even English folk with very little knowledge would be able to tell you.

What was their rationale and evidence ?

The leave judgement sets out that the PSNI had no specific evidence disorder would occur should the parade be granted. That is not the same thing as saying no disorder would occur.

PSNI seemingly pointed that out and told PC what they would do should a number of scenarios play out from their being no protest right up to their being a huge protest.

PC seemingly took that into account and concluded that either disorder was unlikely or was manageable should the parade be allowed.

Yeah but its back to the fupping buck passing nonsense that goes on. The police know damn well how contentious these things are. One big failing of PP was not getting thess things "in writing".

I'm not convinced they did get it wrong.

Humphries judgement set out the following.

The determination states that the police did carry out an assessment but no
specific information in relation to disorder was identified. That is not the same as saying there was no risk of disorder. In fact, the court was told that ACC Henderson did refer to various risks which had been considered by the police. A range of potential scenarios from an entirely peaceful passing off to violent disorder and all those potential scenarios had been mapped out by police and the appropriate responses were being considered.

[25] There was clearly detailed engagement by the Commission with senior police officers over a period of time at which intelligence assessments were considered and the PSNI's planning was explained to the Commissioners. The only proper conclusion to draw from those paragraphs of the determination when read together, is that public
disorder did feature in the consideration of the Commission in accordance with section 8 of the 1998 Act and the relevant guidance

So it seems the PSNI probably did provide the correct information as they understood it at the time.

Since she has never considered herself as Irish don't know why she is feeling shame. A nasty person who has nothing to contribute at any level.
