100%

Demotion to league two - minimum.

This would honestly do the English game the world of good. I'd say the working class City fans who supported the team prior to their investment would love it. Gets rid of the bandwagoners.

As a Liverpool fan I was thinking how I'd feel if it was my club in the same boat. I'd probably want the owners removed so this never happens again.
League 2 would not be the worst thing in the world. Would make tickets easier to get and would get rid of some of the absolute social media doses that follow top 6 clubs nowadays. Hardest part of it would be getting TV coverage.
I wouldn't be bragging about titles gained during that period anymore, that's for sure

Who made Abramhovic sell Chelsea? Was it Premier League or UK Government - Just wondering for the removing owners punishment

He decided to sell Chelsea under pressure from the UK Government's sanctions following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Maroon Manc

Should be stripped of every trophy won since 2008, relegated and a transfer ban. Don't see how their owners can pass a fit and proper test too. City clearly not going to admit it has the sponsors would walk.

You'd wonder what else they were up to, if they were paying Mancini and Toure off the books who else was benefitting too!!

City would be a bottom half premier league club worth circa 500 million without the takeover often flirting with relegation instead of a club worth circa 5 billion so their needs to huge sanctions in place which hugely distorts the value of the club.

But, but - Man City won their trophies on the pitch.  ;)

I read one report (don't shoot me if this wrong) that after all the talk about Haaland only costing £51million at the time, the entire transfer fees paid to numerous parties from numerous accounts was over £250 million.

Not a chance he left for that little. Dodgy deal for sure.

Mancini even said he was paid by two accounts and reiterated this again recently.

Makes you wonder what Man City have been at for the last 8 years.

QuoteMan City's Disguised Funding Scheme:

Sponsorship Fees:

Season - Total (Actually Paid)

2009/10 - £27.0m (£4.5m)
2010/11 - £41.25m (£12.75m)
2011/12 - £86.75m (£16.0m)
2012/13 - £121.75m (£16.0m)
2013/14 - £127.5m (£16.0m)
2014/15 - £123.2m (£16.0m)
2015/16 - £136.17 (£16.0m)
2016/17 - £140.59 (£11.0m)
2017/18 - £145.73m (£11.0m)

Total - £949.94m (£119.25m)

So sponsors were only liable for the £119.25m total figure, with the £830.69m additional shareholder funding disguised as 'commercial partner revenue'.

Man City are an illusion of a club.  As Maroon Manc says, their true status is lower half of the premier league (at best) and every few years dropping down a division.  Their supporters have had a great time over the past 15 years, beyond their wildest dreams, but the party's over, and the hangover's due to kick in!

Will be very interesting to see how this affects them on the pitch rest of this season.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Would love to see that game looked into! Rooney reckons it should be. QPR lost it on purpose for sure when they knew they were safe.

I haven't seen the  footage in years, but apparently QPR just kicked the ball straight back to City  at 2-2,  when knowing they were safe

I did see footage lately of  Cisse of QPR celebrating with Nasri  when the crowd  poured on.
