What a day  ;D

At the turn of the century you wouldn't have got City and Chelsea together in an FA Cup final, 20 years later they played the Champions League Final, the EPL has been cooked since Abramovich walked in, at least racist Jack Walker ploughed it into his boyhood club

I remember this belter of a comment on talksport years ago ...

Matthew Syad "It is these small vulnerable gulf states associating themselves with visible culturally significant iconographic assets that will protect them from any fallout from a conflict between Israel and Iran"

And the legendary reply from Jim White ... "Players and ex-players don't see it that way"

From BBC:

How could relegation or expulsion work?

There are two key scenarios here.

The first is that one of the sanctions Manchester City are given is so significant a points deduction that they finish this season (or another future campaign, if the process takes longer) in the Premier League's bottom three and are automatically relegated to the Championship.

The second scenario is that they are expelled by the Premier League, which would require 15 of their rival clubs to vote in favour of a motion decreeing so.

Were that to happen, the club's future would be much less clear and would require them to apply to the Football Association for re-entry.

Because the EFL and National League are separate entities from the Premier League, neither would necessarily be obliged to accept an entry request from Manchester City.

And, even if a request were accepted by the EFL, its 72 clubs would have to vote whether or not to accept them.

That is where the possibility of City beginning a reascent in League Two - or potentially even lower - arises from.

League two or lower

Now you're talking  ;D

Hmmm can they buy 15 votes in the premier league? What happens with the points they've already gained this season and what about the other teams who havent played them? Below league 2 would be the proper punishment

Will be forever judged in the manner as we look at Ben Johnson the Olympic champion Or Lance Armstrong seven consecutive Tour de France winner nowadays.

The word Scam used 8 times in yesterday Premier League damning statement. The lads in charge at City need to stop embarrassing themselves and take their punishment now.

And among that punishment should  be to get stripped of all titles won in that period and removed from the Premier League.

In Italy if im not mistaken they took titles off Juventus after their wrong doing. One of the titles went to Inter but I think the other was just void.

I suppose only for the history books , but other than that it's fairly irrelevant.

You can't , for example, bring the United  2012 squad back, 14  years later to receive the PL trophy,  and have a open top bus tour. Especially since most have retired or playing  for a different  club. Would just be weird. The emotion of the day  is gone, and  recieving a belated title is a hollow victory .

So, a big fine, they'll have no bother paying it. Remove a few trophies, meh whatever. The main thing  that has to happen is down to  league two or lower. A points deduction  or even relegation to the championship would  be an absolute cop out.

The owners have demonstrated that they are not fit to own a team, there should be a forced sale.

They would be very busy awarding titles to teams. I can imagine stripped of titles and left null and void.

This is going to run for years. Compensation pay outs will be huge,  nevermind for teams that finished 2nd or runners up in cup competition but also teams that missed out on Champions league or other European competitions and those that got relegated plus players and agents bonuses etc.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Watford open top bus  tour with the 2019  FA cup

Big Elton  on board  playing I'm Dill Dandin.

Likewise Stoke for the 2011 cup

Peter Crouch  on the top deck doing his robot. Or had he not joined them  by then?

trueblue1234

Stevie G to finally get this PL?

I agree that City should be stripped of titles and possibly demoted or whatever, but you can't start retroactively redistributing trophies, because where does it end?

How many teams missed out on CL or other European spots because of City's cheating? How many teams saw their advances in Euro competitions come to an end once they met City? What were the immediate and future financial implications for those teams?

Plus, any retroactively awarded titles will always be asterixed and basically meaningless anyway, having been stripped of any contemporary joy or satisfaction.

Rugby league in Aus had a similar scandal with a Melbourne team who were serial winners while not sticking to the salary cap. Stripped of their titles but no one was awarded them after the fact

Armagh18

Got to be stripped of the titles, but wouldn't be in favour of awarding them to second place. Banning the owners, kicking them to at least league 2 and a points deduction every year for the next ten would be a start.

The compensation claims will be wild!
