Limavady losing was a big upset too
It's not even 'go home' they'd enter the IFC relegation playoffs

They couldn't really go to JFC.. could they..?  :o

Not when you've Slaughtmanus, Lissan, Quigan etc who theyd beat...wouldn't they...

Fairly sure Quigan beat Castledawson last year to leave them in the relegation playoffs? Got a result of some kind from memory.

Better chance the relegation playoff is played this year.

If Slaughtmanus stay up it'd be some achievement for them after the year they had in Division 2.

Kilrea vs Faughanvale — Kilrea
Ballinderry vs Ballinascreen — Draw – Ballinascreen to come through
Swatragh vs Loup — Loup
Lavey vs Newbridge — Newbridge
Banagher vs Sleacht Néill— Sleacht Néill
Steelstown vs Magherafelt — Magherafelt
Bellaghy vs Glen — Glen

Sleacht Néill are the only one I would say is a banker you could make an argument on the rest.
Faughanvale, Swatragh and Banagher not good enough based on their 1st round result.
Lavey not tested by F'Vale and might find it hard to step up intensity sufficiently in the 10 day turnaround.
Steelstown had a great start last year then fell away, don't think they can sustain the scooring against a top team.
Bellaghy I just don't trust to put two performances together.
3 into the relegation play offs my guess is Faughanvale to go down. Winning this game might be their best chance to stay up.

Hard to disagree with any of that. Would love to see Steelstown progress but think Rossa will be too strong. Barring meeting Slaughtneil in Round 3 you'd think they'll progress to the QFs again, at least.

Fairly routine for Kilrea tonight, small bit of hope for Vale towards the end of first half but it amounted to nothing in the second.

Vale only scored 0-2 in second half although they were very wasteful thats a decent return for Kilreas defence.

Awful night and time for a game but must be nice knowing your in next round on a Thursday with everyone still to play.

Brendan

Will Vale save everyone else the bother of playing the relegation play offs?

I'd be surprised if that teams is on the pitch again this year.

Gave up listening to the commentary after the black card when Mal said there'd been a strike, if theyre at that craic theyd be as well in the pub for the rest of the season

If it did happen it was at the opposite side from stand and there was no real shout from any of the Kilrea crowd. Generally at least a few people see it.

Tommy Rogers looked good tonight, James Kielt on as a late sub and kicked a 2 pointer with his first touch.
Kilrea are a really strange team, I know others disagree but I thought they had decent go at Newbridge and far too strong tonight.
They have good footballers throughout the team but don't appear to push on.

Nobody will be bothered about getting them in the next round but not sure anyone would want to get them.

Would agree with this and id put dungiven in the same bracket, contrast of them beating newbridge in the first round last year to getting hammered by Bellaghy this year

YoungSaff

Lavey being backed in with bookmakers I see!!

Will they be far away from an upset ?

GTP

If Lavey won people would not be surprised but Newbridge are favourites.
P Power have them pretty clear at 4/7 Lavey 6/4. Newbridge keep finding a way to win these matches so you would have lost a lot more than you would have won betting against them the last two years.
Magherafelt are 1/18 to win against Steelstown wouldn't have thought it was that much of a certainty.
