After six hugely successful years, Gerard Donnelly has stepped down from his role as Tyrone Minor Football Manager.

Gerard leaves behind an outstanding record, having guided Tyrone to four Ulster Minor Football Championship titles, three All-Ireland Final appearances and, most memorably, All-Ireland Championship success in 2025.

Beyond the silverware, Gerard has played an important role in the development of a generation of young Tyrone footballers, helping prepare players to progress through the county pathway while representing their clubs and communities with distinction on the national stage.

His six years in charge have been marked by tremendous commitment, leadership and consistency, and we are extremely grateful for the time and energy he has given to Tyrone football.

We thank Gerard, his management teams and backroom personnel for an outstanding contribution over the past six years and wish him every success in the future.

Has come a long way since getting Stewartwtown into Ulster minor and crowing that Dan Lowe was overlooked for Tyrone minors, always liked him for that, to the point, no malice

He guided the minors over the line for the first time in 15 years in 2025, but will have regrets over the 2 final losses. He has certainly done his bit.

I'm not sure if he is the main man there but I think he is involved. Home club is Stewartstown but he has been living up in Carrickmore direction for a long time now so Carmen probably his '2nd' club at this stage.

I'm not sure if he is the main man there but I think he is involved. Home club is Stewartstown but he has been living up in Carrickmore direction for a long time now so Carmen probably his '2nd' club at this stage.

Not a shock to see Carrickmore's turn of form this year compared to last year with Donnelly's involvement, Looks a different animal than the team that was close to the drop zone this time last year

Tyrone GAA is delighted to announce the appointments of Diarmaid McNulty as Tyrone Minor Football Manager and Paul O'Grady as Tyrone U20 Hurling Manager.

These appointments are for an initial three-year term and remain subject to formal approval by the County Committee at its meeting on Tuesday, 1 September.

Tyrone GAA extends its best wishes to both management teams as they prepare to lead their respective squads over the coming seasons.

Don't know if I see Devlin stepping down anytime soon - alot of security within that u20s role which he seems to have made a name for his own - if he was to leave would only be for the senior job I'd say, and I think MOR is truly building something there. Fair play to Donnelly all the same could push on at senior club football now

U20 position is vacant currently. Donnelly is the obvious choice to come in there if Devlin doesn't seek renomination.

I mean that was my first thought too. However I think he's close enough to the machine that he can point out the bad yet still have that crest on his mind. If he ever gets a charge at the manager role - he would be 1000% behind that crest. Somethings just leave a sour taste. But Ice Cream tastes better in the winners circle.
