Quote from: superstar_ on August 03, 2026, 10:07:52 AMI was in Kildress as a neutral. Naomh Eoghan the better team and missed a crazy amount of chances. Only thing Kildress can feel hard done by over was the second half penalty which was definetly touched on the ground by NE number 4. Naomh Eoghan should also have had a penalty in the first half for the black card, the new rule on cynical foul preventing a goal scoring chance leading to a penalty should have been used here. The red card was deserved, Kildress clearly went out to target Ryan Mayse and the full back correctly walked for his punches.

Would like to let this fixture lie but I can't let this crap be the last post on it. NE did miss chance but Kildress missed as many if not more - Our dead balls where unusally bad (we where missing Shea Tracey) and we had a number of goal chances.

I'll take your point on the red if thats how you see it but Mayse started the scrap - hes no saint. Maybe he got a shoulder or push as any defender might do against a op forward at the beginning of a contest.

As for giving a penalty for the dubious black card which occured about 25m from goal and other defenders in the area - that is raking the absolute piss!

As a 'neutral' what is your opinion on a ref from Drumquin being appointed this game considering its in his interest to prevent Kildress from winning the game to keep them well below Drumquin?
The Kildress full back threw punches, how is that red card even up for discussion?
The NE penalty. NE 24's next action was a shot directly on the keeper, the player who pulled him down was the last defender back, under the new rule it is a black card and penalty.
It is the county boards fault for putting a Drumquin referee in that position but he denied both teams a penalty, got the red card correct and the rest was his usual picky stuff that was even to both teams.
The black card happened outside the 20. The 24 didn't even get fully turned never mind have a chance to shoot. Some laugh this is. Genuinely might not be anything worse in our game than old farts that don't have a clue.
That is the new rule. If he gave the black, he should also be giving the penalty. If he isn't taken down he has a clear goal chance.
Was talking one of the naomh Eoghan players this morning, referee played two extra minutes and kildress had a 2 point free at the end of the game. If your players aren't able to score dead balls it's hardly the refs fault.

You said you were at the game last night Douglas, why did you need to speak to Newton players if so!

Typical keyboard warrior acting the big lad behind your screen while spouting nothing but pure brown!

This is crazy stuff. I didn't say we didn't deserve a red I just think if two boys are fighting. It's 2 reds.

He was 25 metres from goals with other Kildress defenders between him and the goal. How can u say that his next thing is it to shoot on goal? By the logic every black card anywhere on the pitch is a penalty???

Again I have no issue with NE they scraped a result against us fair play and good luck but you avoided the question.

I wouldn't expect a Kildress ref to appointed to Rock v Greencastle tonight.

Kildress kicked themselves out of it but done well to have opportunities even with 14/13 men the whole game. Sean devenney was a significant contributing factor to the result.

NE 24 was on the 20 heading for the 13. If the defender doesn't pull him down he is in on goal. The new rule in that case is a penalty. I don't like it but by the rules it is a penalty.
One player threw punches, the other didn't. Correct call by Devenney.
2 penalties not given, one for Kildress one against, is the only grievance you can have with Devenney.

Why'd you not see the non existent 2 point free at the end then????

The one you would've referring to is where Mulgrew took a solo and go and devenny pulled it back for no apparent reason. Which was on the halfway line and played short.

As I said old farts with no clue, but going by your immaturity I'd say your just a 21 year old kid with no mates.

I didn't say I didn't see the 2 point free. It wasn't hit short either, number 12 went for it and it dropped in and wide at his far post, if kildress had a decent free taker they would have won

uptheblues

sooooo.. Any man for the Fleadh?

GAAtrojan

Lads give the referees a rest, we are far from blessed with great refs but what can you do we need them. Totally agree with comments on the county board appointment of refs from certain clubs to certain games. I always thought a ref should only be aloud to ref in a division his club don't have any association with but then we will not all agree there too for obvious reasons.

Devenney has no real love for drumquin football if you talk to some of the lads that play. I don't think he's the type that lets that get in the way of his decisions.

Kildress are knocking on the door and albeit maybe too late will be hard to beat in the coming weeks.

Another note. 12 points could see you in a relegation playoff in division 2???

Aaron Boone

A few heavyweights playing tonight. Let's hope not taking about refs at 10.30pm.

Spoke to a man from the mountains yesterday who expected Owen Roes to slip up, What is going on in Derryloughan. Maybe they think they are safe but from any accounts I've heard this year things aren't going well for the Loughshore men.

Rock are going to drag themselves kicking and screaming from the clutches of relegation after securing a vital 2pts last night against Greencastle

the bottom of division 2 no doubt has some turns in it with a few games to go in a congested couple of weeks. Hard to see Naomh Eoghan slipping up at this point but Owen Roes will be there if they do.

Very nice on the top side of things for Carrickmore to give their neighbours and "rivals" a share of the spoils last night.

Ardboe have done the same to Coalisland who desperately needed 2 points, although with Dungannon starting to pick up some it might be all too late for the men in blue.

Not sure why Ardboe would want to throw last night's game when they still need points to be sure of safety themselves and have Edendork, Trillick, Loughmacrory and Dromore still to play. Heard they were very poor in the 2nd half last night though. It's a strange one as on current form nobody would have expected the Fianna to score 0-21 against them especially after the hammering the Fianna took from Carrickmore the other night.

12 pts might not be enough to avoid being caught in the 3rd bottom playoff place.

Goals_Will_Come

Ardboe are in no position to be giving points to anyone. Far from safe and have struggled for a number of years. They are closer to Intermediate than they are to Senior Champions.
