Kevin Keegan.  Legend

Keegan revealed in January that he was ill with stage 4 cancer.

He achieved almost everything possible in football. England striker with 63 caps, 31 as skipper, scoring 21 goals and playing at the 1982 World Cup.  With Liverpool three league titles, an FA Cup win, a European Cup and two UEFA Cups. He won the Bundesliga with Hamburg, and the Ballon d'Or, one of only four Englishmen to do so.

As a manager, there was the Newcastle revival and the Great Entertainers, just in time to be part of the Premier League's burgeoning riches. He turned Manchester City's fortunes managing 176 games, and his 18 months with England ended after defeat by Germany in the final game at Wembley in 2000.

RIP. Definitely one of England's best ever players, of Irish heritage of course. There was a goal he scored against us in some qualifiers that was both a heartbeaker but a great goal nonetheless.

I remember Kevin Keegan playing for England, i was young, just checking there, he last played World Cup 1982 for England.

Him and brooking were major players for them, they were both took although injured/not fully fit and Keegan only played the last match possibly

Lol I was only 9 years of age but still loved it, in a different way than those in Renshaws. Got to stay up late for it.
I can only imagine the scenes.

So was I...upstairs skipping around like a mad man!!!

Never saw him at his peak but he was one of those honest to goodness kinda men. Shankley said he had something few people had and that was proper enthusiasm,  real energy.
