He was pretty magnanimous post match. Said that the better team won, without any equivocation or qualification.

As for the final, I can't see any logical, radical reason to pick Argentina, other than the fact they have Messi. Which might be enough.

AustinPowers

Didn't the Spanish  chant something about Gibraltar after they beat England in the   Euros final?

DaleCooper

Would fancy the Spanish but its anyones game. Glad the Messi Ronaldo stuff has been put to bed, a back to back WC would cement Messis greatness

Referring to Shearers hype during game and general over excitement. Its brutal to listen to.

I thought the Spanish couldn't be beat but I would be unsure after last night. Argentina impressive after they conceded.  It is however hard to know how much England really imploded vs how good Argentina were.

Money on cucarella to get a yellow for booting messi. He definitely won't get the same space but even on limited space he's so capable of producing some magic.

Look-Up!

Thought he got caught in possession a bit when space was at a premium.

Messi still has that touch of class but Jesus I reckon David Beckham could have came on for Argentina at his age and got a couple of assists England were that bad. Can guarantee Spain won't give him the time or space he got late on, had a few moments early in the game but didn't look like causing any harm until agent Tuchel went full on defence mode.

Expect Yamal and co to get the shite booted out of them, a lot will come down to the ref, with Trump and Infantino having a big say there Spain likely won't get much. Spain obviously the better footballing team but Argentina have that brilliant doggedness and dirt and obviously the Messi factor.

Should be a good watch.

Yamal has probably had his card marked by the refs. In the last match he was claiming stuff all through the match and the ref just ignored him or told him to get up. Luckily he got the most important decision.

Heard the story of  some rapper who let it slip that  he was  told the day before  to present the MOTM award to Messi  in the Argentina Egypt match . Then backtracked  and said or whoever player was  MOTM

Another story of Yamal MOTM v Belgium I think ,  but apparently he was  poor.

Something  strange going on in Cloud cuckoo FIFA  land?

The truth is out there...

Beckham appeared on screen more often than Kane.

Probably played a bigger role too

In fairness to Kane it was him dropping deep and getting involved that led to the goal. Anonymous other than that though.

I'm a completely avowed Kane fan.

And I've watched England more closely than an Irishman should for the past 5 tournaments as a result.

It's the same theme every time. England go out go by a narrow margin and the internet wants to know why Harry didn't show up.

Every time I wonder.

This is a man who his whole life has shown he will score goals if his team will just, you know, try to attack.

And England without fail go out without trying to attack.

To me - the Kane fan - it's madness. Just force the game and try to win 4-2 instead of 1-0.

They'll understand it better when he's gone I think.

Such a quality player. If he'd went to a good side earlier and had not bottle job managers/team mates with England he'd be getting talked about as one of the best ever.

Milltown Row2

I don't think you can say Harry is average or anything other than a top top player, but he certainly went missing the other night..

Be that down to tactics fatigue decision making or whatever it didn't work out and he wasn't on his own, it's a squad and management collapse

Is Kane their best ever player? Striker certainly. Player? Better than Rooney? Darren Anderton?
