Brutal stuff although in fairness most poor countries would be similar. Building standards are poor in most developing countries. Even Turkey is impacted.

There was absolutely no possibility of a murder conviction here. They didn't pull the trigger, but assisted the fella who did. So they had to prove they knew he was going to kill her. Absolute performative over charging nonsense. Even a diplock court said no.

There was never going to be a convection on this, nobody thought it was going to get there, but someone has got away with it, thats the point...

Why put her family through this then? There are numerous things they could have been convicted of short of murder. At least give them that.

Who? The crown prosecutor? You've no idea what this family asked for, you probably haven't had any family member put through the wringer of losing a family in the north or had a family member been shot during the troubles.

If there was a slither, a slight chance that a convection could be given, I'll take every time

Yeah the law in this area changed in 2017 after we'd been getting it wrong for years.

PPS had to prove they assisted or encouraged the offence by the offender and that they intended to assist or encourage the commission of that offence.

There were dozens of achievable charges here. A conviction of some sort would be far better than a year long trial that had nothing of merit.
