€1000 fine for each would soon put an end to it but now someone is dead the mammies on FB will be calling for a ban

That's mad stuff. Hard to 'police' all along the road but people need a bit of common sense.

You can see clips on youtube of Isle of Man bikers doing 150mph and lads sitting on grass holding out their phones to record. Must be distraction for the actual people racing.

Theres a famous clip of Colin McRae finishing the Portugal WRC 1997. He and Nicky Grist both complaining in car, later McRae said it should never have been allowed run.

Spectators ruining the spectacle is nothing new.

The TT spectators are better informed on risks because death is common and behave better.
