Clearly it's time  it was binned.

Problem being you didn't get enough time to get an equaliser?

Quote from: tonto1888 on June 14, 2026, 03:21:20 PMFair play to Louth. Got a bit of luck with the goal and the 'ghost' point ( caveat: I haven't seen it back; could have been a point alright) but were the better team over the 70 mins and were deserved winners

Didn't see the ghost point but thought Louth the better team and got the luck of the decisions you need to win close games.

I was of the impression that the next touch after the 70 mins ended the play unless it was a free kick which the rule book specifically states is only the next touch by a player from the same team. Another key detail possibly missing from the official guide.

There was time on the clock when he shot

Yes but not when Rafferty touched it. The rule book specifically states that on a free that would be a score. It doesn't say what the procedure is when it's not a free.

The same issue arose last year in the league between Armagh and Tyrone and my memory is that the game ends on the subsequent touch. But that's not the point I'm making. The point I'm making is why is only what happens on a free covered?

I think there was a second or two left when the ball hit the net David. On the stadium clock

There wasn't on my view of the stadium clock or on the TV clock. Again I'm not complaining about it in this instance. As Louth deserved it. I'm just pointing out that the rule isn't covered in the rule book and it's something that probably should be clarified.

Looking around for the rulebook when poor defending and horrendous goalkeeping (all he had to do was stick his head on it) were the prime factors, is just a little bit sour for my liking.

Forker holds on to the ball instead of having a stupid shot and we aren't having this conversation
Forker getting some abuse for Armagh fans. There was an even worse one after. Can't remember who fisted it away in mf area

Fully agree Louth deserved it.

Is Austin not a Cavan man? Don't they'd have got an equaliser unless you played another week

Quote from: Armagh18 on June 14, 2026, 02:49:56 PMMadness. Fair play to Louth. Rafferty was horrendous all day and Forker kicking that ball away and moving at a snails pace back was a hard watch

Fair play indeed. Game littered with mistakes. If that's the subs armagh are throwing on they don't have a great a squad as they're letting on.

Armagh had a goal chance when they had the defender surrounded on the ground in the last ten, what was the free out for?
Geezer gets alot right but today wasn't his finest hour. I thought oisin o Neill came on early, he left grugan on bench too long and Aidan didn't have his finest impact. Having a player who was in run in for poty two years ago on bench was also strange when your conceding 2-20. Tk has been a key player this year and took off 7 mins into second half.

Eh?

I wasn't talking about  today.  Plenty of examples so far this year already about how  bad this hooter rule is

McGrane I think.

Raffertys dropped catch, mcgranes mis timed pass and forkers negative contribution all happened in the last 5 odd mins of the match, they are going to stand out.

Mcgrane was generally solid, rafferty prevented a point going over the bar also at one stage also. But again, mistakes at pivotal times cost them and there can be no excuses.
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

I thought the McGrane one was before forkers shot. He had just done a great piece of defending too

Yeah agree with a lot of that, just on TK though apparently he was on his last warning with that p***k of a ref so thats why he came off. Ross was also cramping.

Armagh 2 points up game was done
Holding the ball just over a minute left
Ball was recycled back to him
He had 2 loose players to keep recycling and push clock down
He shot  from a poor position under pressure was blocked and didn't have pace to get after his man
Armagh didn't get ball back
