We hardly broke sweat.....

Very worrying that Ros couldn't get themselves up for a knockout championship game coming off a provincial win.
It's not like the Tyrone game was a massive failure - they probably would have won apart from an uncharacteristic poor kickout.
Anyway, they're gone now - a footnote in championship 2026 when they would have hoped to be a headline.

Monaghan made good use of home advantage right down to how to played against the wind and they were much more measured and controlled on the ball in that knock out game than their previous non knock out games

The rossies didnt look prepared for a big battle at all and even when 6-2 ahead they looked off, it was basically poor shooting by Monaghan during that period that had them ahead. Without Enda Smith they looked fairly lost, bringing him on with 7 minutes to go when injured was silly.

Won Connacht and stayed up in Division 1 Roscommon had worse years.

Monaghan v Donegal would be interesting pairing if it happens in the next round.

Good away wins for Cork and Meath that made 3 of the 4 underdogs winning on Saturday

I think Gough seemed to award two frees. One for a pull on the jersey inside and one for a foul on the ball carrier out the pitch.

Although I always thought you had the choice for an off the ball foul of where you had the ball or where the foul was committed.

Youtube always have them up too.

Strange that RTE had all the cameras at the match, a quality recording with 'top notch' commentator Marty yet there was no live broadcast on offer. Why go to all that bother for just 5 minutes of highlights? Yet there were games on GAA+ where a few people and their pet dog were in attendance.

I assume it's for the Sunday Game. I also think it was a contractual issue rather than a resource issue.

Common sense needs to prevail here then. If the resources are there to show it then every game at this stage should be shown as the appetite is definitely there from neutrals

I had a weird feeling they are undercooked as only 2 games since league and half of one game was with an extra man. That said they have not had fluke wins to get them to being genuinecall ireland contenders. A win next week and they will be feared again i think. Fair play to cork great win
I think way too much is made of direct routes tbh, extra games are great for generating momentum, a lot does depend on your injury situation tho.

Also - having the wind is another thing that some teans put too much faith in. I always think Armagh & Donegal for example dont care that much about it, and are generally as good into as with it all the time. Some teams can certainly make hay with it on occasion but they can never make hay it all the time and will come a cropper at some point.

From the Bunker

The trouble with the Cork defeat is it yet again undermines the aura that Donegal had built up this year. Every team will fancy a go at Donegal now.

Did Derry have a sub  Maor Uisce?

Who dished  out the water after his sending off? Maybe that's what contributed to their loss

TyroneTam

Rossies played like a team that was in a 2a game rather than 2b...almost as if they gave up the game as they knew they'd a safety net next week, really strange performance.

It was the Meath Maor Uisce that got the line.

Louth seriously fancy their chances here. Hoping Armagh have enough with more players missing today.
