Timing does seem off, as was allowing Alonso join Chelsea.
My understanding is Alonso turned Liverpool down 2 years ago so won't be considered again.

They obviously want to move quickly for Iraola, who has been in talks with Milan & a German team who I can't remember

Shocked to wake up to that news, but think it's the right decision.

Cheers for 20 Arne

Had to be done. Glad they got it done quick and they can build during the summer.

King Kenny battling cancer.
John Barnes had been battling through it as well and seems to have recovered.

Kevin keegan as well. Sounds like he's maybe losing the battle  :(

Very sad news, hopefully all can make a recovery but yes the news doesn't sound good for Keegan

Not surprised to be reading that.

Impressive interview with him on LFCtv. Saying all the right things anyway.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Bringing a new style to an established style won't take two years to bed in, will it?

Also coming from a club that had players that were not as well known and lesser ego's will take time too

He's done a brilliant job and these years in the PL will defo make the transition better, was he first choice?

It's all very coincidental that he was leaving at the end of the year, after the season he had and then getting 'tapped' up by Liverpool  ;)
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

There will be a big turnover of players for him to deal with I suspect, which will be difficult in it's self.  Alot of big personalities going out the door also so new leaders will need to be bought or established from within.

The football should be more watchable, but the appointment is a risk given no experience of Europe and playing every three days.

If the rumours are true he spoke with Ac Milan, Crystal Palace and Leverkusen in relation to their vacancies.

Seems to have been first choice.  Richard Hughes knew him from his Bournemouth days so that would have been a factor.

There are few cast iron guarantees of success with managers and at some stage most of the elite ones have had to make the step up.  Based on what we know of him, he ticks a lot of boxes.
