Quote from: Stall the Bailer on May 26, 2026, 08:03:57 PMHave they done this recently, say this season? I know they did in past, but the appeals that followed often overturned much of it.

The honest issue is I am not sure how we would know.  I have been involved in a few appeals over the years stemming from CCCC sanctions but none in the last 18 months.  That doesnt mean there havent been some I just have no personal knowledge

The Galway trainer pushed a Dublin player and got 2 months, Is that not a better conparsion to what McGuinness done . Theres been many a player banned on video evidence outside of a referees report. I remember  Fergal Donherty getting suspended after a clash with Rory Kavanagh.

Captain Scarlet

There are technical issues but Brennan ran from behind a guy, bizarrely took out his ear piece and shoved him to the ground.

McGuinness was face to face and reacted to something when something had already escalated to genuine violence.
He was clashing with Mac Gearailt more in my memory, so he could he in bother too.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on May 26, 2026, 02:34:22 PMBrennan should be up in arms about this and should be putting serious pressure on the GAA to explain their positions.

And if he does, I hope he's given short shrift.

I gathered that.

Whatever about the rights and (clear) wrongs of the McGuinness situation, Brennan has absolutely zero entitlement to seek and explanation for a case that he's not involved in.
I'd disagree but each to their own. If Brennan felt he was held to higher scrutiny/ standards than Jim, he would have every right to voice that. And I would 100% support him in that. Transparency should be sought whenever possible.

He could voice it, sure. Seek an explanation from the GAA? Different kettle of fish altogether.
Yeah maybe wasn't clear, I meant put pressure on the GAA via media. I'm sure there'll be no shortage of journalists looking to speak to him for his view. If I was him I'd be as vocal as I can about the inconsistencies.

Manager has a physical altercation with someone from the opposing management team versus a manager having a physical altercation with an opposition player...the words of John McEnroe come flooding back

I assume 3rd man in isnt a rule anymore or could they not decide which of the 6 Donegal men to give the black card to?

I remember 4 Tyrone players being red carded against Armagh and suspended for "contributing to a melee" and never saw the likes again.
It is a continuous journey of make it up as you go along. And it will ever be thus.

Milltown Row2

They downgraded the third man in (contributing to a melee) from a red to a black recently, that would have been a perfect opportunity to just dish out the black cards st the start of the second half

Before the game each sideline official has a team to pick for such an occasion, so one official has Donegal the other Kerry, so as they can concentrate on the numbers on their backs..

Pulling your own player out doesn't warrant a card, but engaging with an opponent does..

I never seen it so can't comment on this particular incident

Mc Guiness and donegal need to think about the following

Shane Ryan
Gavin White
Paul Murphy
Sean O Sea
Paul Geaney
Fit Brian O B
Fit Paudie
Fit Joe O Connor

He also needs to think about the first half and the ease at which Kerry were able to score. And the difficulty at which Donegal were able to score.

The best thing to happen to kerry is what happened. The real test for Donegal is yet to come.
