Great game. Fair play to Cork. Some performance from Sheridan

Deserved win for Cork. Meath never looked like they were playing with an extra man even when new rules amplify the advantage. Great game overall.

They showed a lot of character there which has been lacking in cork football for a long time. Great second half. Meath very disappointing. Would say that not many teams left would fear them on that display.

bennydorano

Well done Cork. Doesn't reflect well on Kerry with their man down performance.

Yup. The miss from the long free on about 65 mins could have been very costly though. Tried one against Kerry as well.

Meath were a bit panicky and the last two point effort from Caulfield (I think) could have been worked a bit better.

Killala

Great evenings entertainment with both games. The new format working so far.

Great second half from Cork with 14. Meath are a bit overhyped. Cork should have won the league final too.

gallsman

Suspect Kildare are gonna be in for a bit of a trimming here.

Captain Obvious

Real game of two halves.

1st half Cork 0-11 Meath 1-16
2nd half Cork 0-19 Meath 0-8

Shocking second half. Not going to say a whole lot now but we don't seem to be able to deal with it when teams get in our faces.

We seem to have lost all composure when the game was on the line.

Kickouts were a big problem all day for us at both ends of the field.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

seemed to be outmuscled and out coached in the second half.
awful choices for last two kick attempts

Bernard Flynn tweets some nonsense.

Quote from: Gael85 on May 23, 2026, 05:39:29 PMDidn't see that second half in Donegal. Thought Kerry controlled first half and dominated kick out would set them up for second half. Red card changed the game. If Hurson had took control of game at the start would none of that nonsense before HT. Kerry lads seemed intent in settling old scores and how did David Clifford escape a yellow card.
Donegal had countered the Kerry kick outs after about twenty five minutes. Were getting in behind the press and controlled the game. Kerry didn't score for the last fifteen minutes hardly a team bossing things.

Kerry eased off the press. They still controlled possession for most of first half.
Possession doesn't equal scoring success. You have to make it count on the scoreboard to matter.

I know but were playing against a strong wind.

I say this be Galways last real chance at Sam, i think they be down Conroy, Comer and Walsh nxt yr.
