No, you're thinking  of John Travolta

Quote from: Ethan Tremblay on May 22, 2026, 10:46:03 AMGiven his age, this would have been his last tournament, he can afford to burn bridges and vent.  His form has improved for sure, but he must have some ego on him to assume he would be going.  He's good but clearly not that good.

Fair play to Tuchel for picking players on form, as opposed reputation, a gutsy call to leave these players out.

Stones? Gordon? Burn? Henderson? Yeah they are really tearing it up lol

Gibbs White is the form player, who has missed out.

When talking form...

Don't forget Ivan Toney. How can he picked on form?

Rashford is a squad player at Barca.

Djed Spence can't get into the worst Spurs team in 50 years.

It's got eff all to do with form it seems.

I for some reason get the impression that the only ego he's willing to pursue is Bellingham.

Which can't end well for England.

A poor choice of words from myself, thanks for the entire board for calling me out on it, it wont happen again!

He is not picking players who are not on form, despite big reputations, might be a better way of putting it.

Regardless of who is chosen, I think we can all agree as long as they don't win the thing, we will all be happy.  There, a sentence nobody can call me out on.
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Stones played 8 league  games all season.  Gordon is either on fire or anonymous.

Don't know if Foden  was injured slot this season  , or whether Pep has  squeezed all creativity out of him and turned him into a  shadow of his former self, like he did with Grealish

Either way , I hope  the signs are good for an England flop. The earlier it happens , the better

Quote from: Mourne Red on May 22, 2026, 10:02:44 AMPoor enough England squad now it's fully announced.. Won't have to worry about them winning it thank god. Maybe Tuchel is a German spy sabotaging them after all
I'd be careful writing off England, most of the other squads look fairly underwhelming also.  In Tuchel they have a manager that led Chelsea to Champions league success when few including their own supporters expected it.

Worryingly, you're right

I've no faith in  France/Deschamps, despite their talents. Mbappe , a bell end.  Same with Martinez. Good team but he hasn't a notion, and too weak to drop  Ronaldo.

Don't think  Germany havr  enough in them . Netherlands, not a hope. Belgium,  their good crop are well past it. . Modric is 40, so can't  see him being as influential either. Spain probably the best equipped  to win it from the European teams.

Messi 38, not sure he can have the same influence  this time. Is Brazil still playing Neymar? They're fecked  if he's playing.  Another bell end

tyroneStatto

when you look back at world cups in the past filled with different superstars and personalities and you look at the different squads named so far for this one it's actually quite depressing.

rodney trotter

It will be interesting to see what Pochettino can do with USA. He was bullish enough talking about their chances recently. No superstars but Pulisic and Balogun were well regarded coming through. Robinson is a good full backs at Fulham.

In fairness there's still Messi Ronaldo Neymar Modric and Mbappe though I know past their best and definitely a swansong for four of them.

Just hoping for a few good games once the bloated early stages are over

Playing in the equivalent of the Leinster Senior League. And he only moved there because he was told he was dead to England.

I can see the arguments for and against Maguire, Palmer and Foden. But Toney is a f**king mental call.

Puckoon

Maybe its the step away from the norm that might get them over the line.

I can see the bastids doing it.

Was gonna say that earlier. May be a poor league but he'll be high on confidence and it's not to say whoever he took the place of is some sort of superstar. A bit left field but hey ho

Surely you're taking Danny Welbeck who's actually had a good season at a high level?

rodney trotter

Calvert Lewin got 14 for Leeds and was unlucky. The calibre of strikers for England and other countries has dropped a fair bit.  Holland always had top strikers but not now. Italy have missed out on the last 3 world cups and not producing top strikers.
