The problem is - with Celtic winning a League title in a year of mayhem at the club. The board will see this as a green light to not spend money.

On a separate note - I do hope MON retires after this season. He's done a Trojan job. But it cannot be good for his health being involved with a big club like Celtic.

It was never going to be straight forward. What a mental day. 🟢⚪️

Hearts made the Scottish League title exciting and worth winning this year.

A bit Like Mayo gave the AI series in Football value in the 2010's when Dublin were dominating.

I'm sure many of those titles won by Dublin would have had less value without someone to put them to the pin of their collar.

Ironically Celtic like Dublin got the chance to cross the line on their home pitch today. A huge advantage.

Like Mayo, Hearts have no cigar. And missed a huge chance this year.

Aaron Boone

Hard to imagine Celtic (will) do the double after the 33-day Nancy debacle in December.

In that period Kerry ran Dublin close in 2013, 2016, 2019 and they won an All Ireland in that time also helped by Donegal taking out Dublin.

Whatever about Hearts it shouldn't be forgotten that Dublin was there to be beaten in a few finals yet Mayo found ways to lose.

The bitterness of anti Celtic fans this week has been through the roof. Hail hail!!

Yeah, but Kerry did not beat Dublin alap over that period and they also had great chances to do so also. But managed to somehow lose from winning positions.

The theme of the story is that Mayo in the main made the AI series less a one horse race - even though in reality it was a one horse race won consecutively by the best Football team Gaelic football has ever seen who got to play all their finals in their home stadium.

Like Mayo of the past - That was Hearts chance this year. They'll never get a chance like that again.

So Celtic are Dublin. Hearts are Mayo. Kerry are Rangers.
And following today's game I am happy.

Was literally pulling up the Shankill Road today at the final whistle,  going for my weekly fish shop from Ewings.  They used to have big 55 on the side of a building there...seems to have disappeared!!

It was madly ironic that they went 3 4 3 for 25 minutes in 2nd half!!!

I don't really follow Scottish football that much , and I  could hardly name you three Celtic players.  But  I am pleased for Martin O'Neill first and foremost.

And the win annoyed a lot of  people, so that's  a bonus.

Just home from Paradise. Illdecide had the pleasure of my company for the day. Another heart attack job but what a day. Atmosphere was unbelievable and was brilliant to get over the line the way they did. Build the statue for Martin! What a legend. I hope he leaves it at that and walks away into the sunset with his legacy firmly in place.

The fans running on the pitch wasn't great and I was worrying that the ref might blow the whistle and say the match wasn't finished correctly.

ONeill

Why did that ref put his flag up?
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.
