Far better team won. If Down keep playing like that they won't be stopped in Ulster.

That loss really exposes a lot of weaknesses in Donegal not many had seen prior. Alarming wide open avenues in defence all game. A really big job on their hands now to get back on track.

As for Down, I'm so impressed. It'd be nice to think their physical and mental approach to this game would inspire a change of thinking and attitude in my own county, but not a hope of it. Just so much to admire from the underdogs today. In a wider sense, results like this are the lifeblood of any quality championship and are great for neutrals.

Tyrone will hope so, as if they bat Armagh then that's Tyrone in the Tailteann.

No thats Cavan that will drop

I think this all depends on whether Westmeath also beat Kildare.

Yeah you always thought Donegal would power through in the last 10 mins but Down were even better in that period than they were throughout the previous 60 minutes.

Where'd Caolan Mooney come from? I thought he retired? Some shift from him. Huge fan of Murdock as good a midfielder as there is in the country.

Down so impressive today 👏

Where does that  leave them  now?

With a month break before having to go to a provincial finalist?

I'm sure that Kerry would prepare a warm welcome in Killarney. But you might get Westmeath or Kildare.

Well done Down. A brilliant performance from them and the less said about us the better.

Very sad to hear that Michael Langan likely out for the year. He was absolutely flying.

Or they could be out of the All Ireland by next Sunday. I'm not convinced by the system.

That is a shame. Excellent player and a joy to watch. Apart from when he is playing against us obviously

Well done Down.

A few observations on the Fermanagh v Armagh match:
- at least 3 Armagh players had strapping on their thigh - can't be good long term
- Ciaran Mackin is a great athlete but in my opinion he makes some crazy attempts to win kick-outs. Could do himself some real damage
- Not enough is done to stop the dickheads kicking the ball back onto the pitch thereby delaying the quick kickouts
- Kids. Tell your parents to not let you take footballs into the stand. I was a kid once, and loved kicking it but not in the stadium where it accidently goes onto the pitch
- I know money is tight, but as we left en masse there were local residents trying to drive through us. Need to close the exit roads.

Confirmed?
Been one of the best players in the country and a huge loss.

Yeah, it's going to be fascinating to see if Down's performance was a once off or a sign of things to come. Hopefully the latter.

They've ran all the top teams in Ireland close in the past couple of years Armagh, Galway, Donegal twice. Their issue is consistency. No chance they'll get themselves up to that level again to beat Armagh imo.

Always the potential but still a big upset. Did it in style too, an Ulster title for Down would be great for them though Im sure they won't get ahead of themselves.
